About Me I am twenty two years old and am currently in my fourth year, studying English with Creative Writing. I live in Scotland and have grown up here. I was born in Dundee and now live in Aberdeen! I used to be an assistant ballet teacher, which is one of the reasons why I wanted to become a tutor. I also love to write poems and have released a poetry book! I also love to bake and hang out with my friends! I had the opportunity in my final year of high school to help children in the ASN department. I helped them with their work in-class and their homework, specifically English and History. I aimed to help improve their comprehension skills through breaking down literary passages and explaining relevant techniques to them. Currently I am a full-time student at the University of Aberdeen, studying English with Creative Writing. I have completed three years and alongside English I have taken modules in film, sociology and philosophy. I have just started my fourth year, which involves a creative writing module which I have been really enjoying. It has made me realise my love for literature and writing and I hope I can pass that onto my students!

I’m a medical student with a passion for teaching Biology, Science, and Maths at primary and GCSE levels. Almost 10 years in higher education, I’ve learned two key things: 1) Every student can succeed with the right teaching approach, and 2) Learning should be active, using techniques like spaced repetition and active recall. I focus on breaking down complex topics, using examples, mnemonics, and past papers to help students understand. I’m patient and adaptable, always ready to find new ways to explain concepts if needed. Outside of academics, I’m passionate about sports, gaming, and tech. I’ve coached an under-15 basketball team and teach guitar at my church, which helps me connect with students and build trust to boost their confidence and performance. I graduated from Glasgow in 2020 with a 2:1 in Biomedical Sciences and am currently pursuing a medical degree. My strong academic background in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, English, and Geography enables me to offer well-rounded and insightful tutoring.

Here, I developed key skills which proved extremely useful for their progress e.g., altering my communication to their level of understanding while giving relatable and fun examples, ensuring that the students are actively engaged by asking continuous questions to assess their understanding, and each new lesson I conducted with each student was started with a quick recap of the previous lesson. I noticed that these small steps proved extremely useful in the long run for the child's academic progress. Preferred age group: GCSE (However I can also teach A-level and Primary School children) A bit about myself: I am charismatic and enthusiastic Barts and the London School of Medicine student, with a willingness to learn and grow in any field despite the challenges that may be presented. I consider myself well-rounded, excelling in both academics as well as sport e.g., Football (My favourite!) and have passion for social interaction. Through exposure to tough situations as well as reading books on the topics I have honed my emotional intelligence and communication skills which I have since applied to provide help in various avenues such as education. I am a published author who is passionate about writing short stories as means of expressing issues that many children are faced with. One such issue is bullying and I have published a book titled Scars the Bullies and The Bullied which aims to inspire readers to take action against bullying. I will work alongside my students, supporting them along each step of the way so that in the end, they can excel; not solely academically but also in life.
