I completed my high school education at Springs Technical High School in Gauteng, South Africa, where I developed a strong foundation in science and mathematics. I then pursued tertiary studies at Vaal University of Technology, earning a BTech degree in Chemistry. During my time at university, I gained in-depth knowledge in Chemistry, including practical laboratory skills, analytical techniques, and applied scientific concepts. My strong background in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology allows me to tutor A-level students effectively across these subjects. I enjoy making lessons interactive and tailored to each student's needs so that they can achieve their academic goals.

I am a dedicated student of Mathematics and Actuarial Science with a strong passion for problem-solving and analytical thinking. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into simple, understandable steps—an approach I bring into my tutoring sessions. Outside of academics, I have a keen interest in sports including football, badminton, snooker, and golf. I completed my GCSEs at Pinner High School, earning 11 GCSEs at grades 9 to 7, including top marks in Maths and the Sciences. Having recently been through the school and sixth form system myself, I am well placed to relate to students and provide guidance that is both up-to-date and practical. Hey I am Si Yeun! I'm a PhD student researching heterogeneous catalysts, and I have 1 year of experience tutoring Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics for GCSE and below students. Having had some tutoring myself during my GCSE period, I know how much of a nerve-wracking experience it is for both students and parents. With my lessons focusing on teaching based on the students' learning style, I hope to put those nerves at ease. Below is the list of subjects I teach and at which level. KS1/2/3: Mathematics, Science GCSE (Including IGCSE): Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics Current PhD student researching new catalysts for acetylene hydrogenation. My MSc achieved a First (1st) class classification in Materials for Energy and Environment at UCL, where I specialised in the interference of tyre wear particles with atmospheric ice nucleation. Obtained an upper second (2.1) classification for my BSc in Chemistry at Cardiff University. While my speciality is Chemistry on paper, maths and physics are integral to what I do in my current and previous research.
