My name is Mark Sean A. Manubag, and I hold a degree in Chemistry. For the past two years, Iโ€™ve been teaching and tutoring high school and college students, mainly in math, chemistry, and physics. I love making complex topics feel simple and approachable for learners at different levels. As a teacher, I am patient, supportive, and goal-oriented. I believe in guiding students step by step until they feel confident in themselves. One of my strengths is breaking down difficult concepts into clear, relatable ideas. Seeing students progressโ€”from struggling on quizzes to celebrating their own achievementsโ€”is what inspires me to teach. My teaching style is interactive and student-centered. I enjoy connecting lessons to real-life examples, whether through cooking, music, or everyday situations, so that learning feels both meaningful and fun. Iโ€™ve found that when students can relate to a topic, they learn faster and remember it longer. Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading, exploring different genres of music, and learning languages. At the moment, Iโ€™m studying Italian, which helps me stay in touch with the challenges of being a learner myself. That perspective allows me to connect more deeply with my students and encourage them to see learning as a lifelong skill. Teaching, for me, is about helping students discover their own potential. I want my learners to not only improve their grades but also develop the confidence and curiosity that will benefit them well beyond the classroom. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. During my studies, I gained extensive training in laboratory instrumentation, including GCMS, FTIR, AAS, and UV-Vis, and completed internships with the Food and Drug Administration of the Philippines, the Department of Agriculture โ€“ Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, and the Philippineโ€“Japan Active Carbon Corporation. My undergraduate thesis focused on the spectrophotometric determination of phenolics from plant extracts, which strengthened my background in analytical chemistry. After graduation, I successfully passed the Philippine Licensure Examination for Chemists in September 2014. Alongside my academic journey, I began working as a freelance tutor between 2012 and 2014, supporting high school and college students in mathematics, chemistry, and other sciences. Many of the students I taught came from institutions with advanced science and math programs, while others needed help building foundational understanding. Through one-on-one lessons, I developed a teaching approach that emphasized patience, step-by-step guidance, and real-life applications, helping students not only grasp concepts but also build confidence in their own abilities. This tutoring experience deepened my passion for education and showed me the impact of making complex topics simple and engaging. I take pride in seeing studentsโ€™ progressโ€”from struggling on exams to achieving strong results. Teaching continues to be a meaningful part of my career, complementing my professional work as a chemist by allowing me to share knowledge and inspire curiosity in the sciences.

I am a highly dedicated and approachable tutor, currently a medical student, with a strong academic background and a proven ability to help students unlock their full potential. Having achieved top grades throughout my own education, I understand exactly what it takes to succeed in competitive examsโ€”and more importantly, how to teach those skills in a way that actually makes sense to students. My strength lies in breaking down difficult concepts into simple, clear steps that students can confidently apply on their own. Every lesson is tailored to the individual, focusing on closing knowledge gaps, strengthening exam technique, and building the confidence that is often the biggest barrier to success. My aim is not just short-term grade improvement, but long-term academic growth and independence. As a medical student, I am also able to offer specialist support for students aspiring to study medicine. This includes UCAT preparation, structured interview coaching, and expert guidance through the medical school application process. Having gone through this competitive pathway myself, I know exactly what admissions tutors are looking for and how to help students stand out. Parents can expect a tutor who is reliable, professional, and fully invested in their childโ€™s progress. I take pride in delivering sessions that are engaging, focused, and results-driven, with clear improvement in both confidence and academic performance. I have a strong and consistent academic track record, underpinned by both achievement and a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in competitive exams. I achieved 6 A* grades at GCSE, demonstrating early excellence across a wide range of subjects and a strong work ethic from the outset of my academic journey. At A-Level, I studied Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry, achieving high grades in all three. These subjects not only required strong analytical and problem-solving skills, but also the ability to apply knowledge under exam pressureโ€”skills I now actively pass on to my students to help them improve their own performance and confidence. Alongside my A-Levels, I completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) on antibiotic resistance, an area of real scientific relevance. This independent research project developed my ability to think critically, evaluate complex information, and communicate ideas in a clear, structured wayโ€”skills that are essential for academic success and effective exam technique. I am currently a medical student, a highly competitive course that reflects both my academic ability and commitment to excellence. Studying medicine has further strengthened my understanding of science at a deeper level, while also training me to break down complex topics into simple, logical stepsโ€”an approach I use directly in my tutoring to help students understand, retain, and apply what they learn with confidence.

Kyra N.

Hi, I'm Kyra! I'm a First-Class English Language and Literature graduate from the University of Oxford and an experienced tutor who loves helping students grow in confidence and achieve their goals. Over the past few years, I've worked with students of different ages and abilities, supporting them with English, essay writing, exam preparation, and university applications. Whether you're aiming for top grades, preparing for an entrance exam, or simply looking to feel more confident in the classroom, I tailor each lesson to your individual needs and learning style. My teaching approach is friendly, encouraging, and structured. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, so I focus on creating a supportive environment while also helping them develop strong academic skills and independence. As an Oxford graduate, I particularly enjoy helping students develop critical thinking, clear communication, and a genuine enjoyment of learning. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing a student realise what they're capable of. I look forward to helping you reach your goals! ๐Ÿ˜Š Education has been at the heart of my work since graduating from the University of Oxford with a First-Class degree in English Language and Literature. Over the past several years, I have taught students from a wide range of backgrounds, ages, and ability levels, both in the UK and internationally. My experience spans one-to-one tutoring, small-group teaching, online learning, curriculum design, and academic mentoring. I have worked extensively as an English tutor, supporting students with reading comprehension, analytical writing, essay structure, grammar, and exam technique. My students have included primary school pupils building core literacy skills, secondary school students preparing for GCSEs and A Levels, and university applicants seeking support with personal statements, interviews, and academic writing. Through this work, I have developed a strong understanding of how to adapt my teaching to different learning styles, helping each student build confidence alongside academic ability. A significant part of my experience has involved supporting students through competitive applications. I have guided students preparing for Oxbridge admissions, helping them develop critical thinking skills, refine written work, and prepare for interviews. I have also worked with students applying to selective schools and sixth-form programmes, providing tailored support with entrance examinations, interview preparation, and academic enrichment. Alongside teaching, I have managed the administrative side of educational programmes, coordinating schedules, tracking student progress, communicating with parents, and creating personalised learning plans. This experience has given me a broad understanding of the educational journey from both the student's and family's perspective, allowing me to provide organised, goal-oriented support. My teaching has also taken me beyond the UK. While working remotely and from educational hubs in Mexico, I taught students across different time zones and cultural backgrounds, developing the flexibility and communication skills needed to work effectively with international learners. This experience strengthened my ability to build rapport quickly and adapt lessons to diverse educational contexts. What I enjoy most about education is helping students discover confidence in their own abilities. While academic results are important, I believe the most meaningful progress comes when students learn how to think independently, communicate clearly, and approach challenges with curiosity rather than fear. My goal is always to create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel empowered to achieve their potential.
