A Yr13 leaver who studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry at A-level. Maths enthusiast engaging within the SMC, achieving Gold, and participated within the Andrew Jobbing's Senior Kangaroo (2024). My enthusiasm for tutoring started from mentoring a student for GCSE (during Yr12). Through my aid and the student’s zeal, the student bumped their grade from Grade 5 (Yr11 Mocks) to achieving Grade 8 (GCSE results day). During sixth form, I belonged to the student mentoring organisation, where I aided a Yr9 student across various subjects, ranging from Biology to RS. I have always been curious and love solving problems, which led me to study biochemistry at university before moving into software development. I enjoy challenges, whether it’s in science, coding, or everyday life, and I find it really rewarding to figure things out. During lockdown, I even taught myself how to solve a Rubik’s Cube, which was a fun way to test my patience and problem-solving skills. Beyond work, I love learning new things through reading and watching documentaries. Exploring different cultures is also something I’m really passionate about—I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and experiencing different ways of life. I believe that learning is a lifelong journey, and I enjoy helping others grow and develop their own skills. With a curious mind and a love for challenges, I’m always excited to take on new opportunities and share my knowledge with others. I attended Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls, where I completed my GCSEs and A-levels. After that, I pursued my passion for science by studying biochemistry at the University of Warwick. I dedicated myself to my studies and graduated with an upper second-class degree.

Nice to meet you! My name is Abdul, and I am a medical student at the University of Manchester with a strong interest in education. I achieved top grades at GCSE and A level, and I would love to help you learn effectively. I am an amicable individual who takes pride in my ability to understand, work with and assist others. I look forward to getting to know you and answering any questions you may have! During sixth form, I took part in a project called Maths Masterclasses, where I helped design and deliver lessons to primary school students. Planning my presentation required careful thought about structure, clarity, and how to challenge the students beyond their curriculum. I also completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), researching how education strategies can be used in children’s medicine to give children and their carers better understanding of health. Techniques like “teach back,” where students explain a topic in their own words, have stuck with me as important tools for reinforcing learning. More informally, I’ve often found myself helping friends understand difficult topics, and I’ve learnt how to adapt my explanations depending on who I’m speaking to. These experiences have made me realise how much I enjoy teaching, especially when I can find the right approach to make a tricky concept click. I try to make sessions engaging but focused, and I’m always thinking about how to present information clearly and logically. Away from study, I really enjoy football - I love playing fantasy league and keeping up with scores. I also like to read non fiction (especially Wikipedia these days!) to broaden my knowledge on a wide range of topics. I look forward to helping students build confidence and enjoy learning as much as possible. I’m here to make our sessions fun, structured, and tailored to your pace, helping to place you on the path to success! I completed my GCSEs at Oulder Hill Leadership Academy, obtaining the highest grade available (9) in Maths, English Language, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Computer Science. I then completed my A-levels in 2024, obtaining grade A in Maths, Biology and Chemistry. Alongside my A-levels, I gained a range of casual experience during college. I took part in an extracurricular programme called Maths Masterclasses, where I prepared worksheets and delivered presentations to primary school students, helping stretch their understanding of Maths beyond the standard curriculum. I was also a member of the Virtual Medical Society, working with other aspiring medical students to create presentations on topics such as medical current affairs, admission exams, and aspects of the application process. This helped me develop the ability to communicate with clarity and confidence. In addition, I completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and was awarded an A* for my work. My project, titled The Role of Health Literacy in Preventative Children's Medicine, deepened my understanding of the educational principles used in healthcare and how they can be applied within broader educational contexts.
