I am a first class Mathematics graduate with a PhD in Mathematics (Thesis title: Conditioning of the weak-constraint variational data assimilation problem for numerical weather prediction.). I have over 18 years of tuition and mentoring experience with mainly GCSE, A-level and University level students. I have 14 years experience as a Scientist. I've contributed to many interesting projects including; Predicting Solar winds via coronal mass ejections from the Sun for space weather, Modeling Martian dust storms for Mars Missions for the European Space Agency, European Uncertainty Quantification systems for Meteo-France, and hi-resolution (100metres) Numerical Weather Prediction Models for the Royal Netherlands Met Institute. I take a small number of select students each year, and close my doors once I have this number (no more than 4 usually). I have 18+ years of experience tutoring and mentoring young adults and children ranging from 7-30 years old as a side venture while undertaking research projects simply because I love teaching! I am grateful for the privilege to contribute to the young minds of the future who have a thirst for knowledge. In addition to private tuition, I have also taught BSc students for 4 years while at University in lecture-supplementary class groups. I have a Mathematics PhD, specialising in the technique used to predict the weather, known as Data Assimilation. I am an applied Mathematician. Data assimilation estimates the state of a system, given the observations and our uncertainties in data. I trained as a Mathematician prior to my PhD. I worked for 3 years in industry and realised that I wasn't being challenged, leading me back to do the PhD. I've always enjoyed teaching, ensuring that I kept teaching kids and young adults (A level) from the days I was an undergraduate on my weekends and wherever I could find time.

I am a medical student at UCL with a strong academic background, having achieved A* grades at A-level in Maths, Biology, and Chemistry. I have a genuine passion for teaching and enjoy helping students understand challenging concepts in a clear and structured way. Having recently completed GCSEs and A-levels myself, I understand current exam specifications, common pitfalls, and effective revision strategies. The reason I chose to study this because it included using a lot of technical and problem-solving methods, it also included a lot of Mathematics which was one of my favourite subjects at school. I would say Algebra is one of my strong areas and I completed the Level 3 Edexcel Algebra award in secondary school. When I teach I primarily use a lot of worksheets and exam-style questions which will help the student improve on the subject and feel better prepared for any upcoming exams. If a student is struggling to understand a concept , I use diagrams, videos and allow them to have more practise until they are comfortable with the topics.
