Here, I developed key skills which proved extremely useful for their progress e.g., altering my communication to their level of understanding while giving relatable and fun examples, ensuring that the students are actively engaged by asking continuous questions to assess their understanding, and each new lesson I conducted with each student was started with a quick recap of the previous lesson. I noticed that these small steps proved extremely useful in the long run for the child's academic progress. This has also proved useful when teaching students who's first language isn't English as my fluency in another language allowed my to better understand the students I've worked with. I am a published author who is passionate about writing short stories as means of expressing issues that many children are faced with. One such issue is bullying and I have published a book titled Scars the Bullies and The Bullied which aims to inspire readers to take action against bullying. I will work alongside my students, supporting them along each step of the way so that in the end, they can excel; not solely academically but also in life. Hello! I’m Kyrie Zalyn, an educator with a strong foundation in Psychology and over five years of teaching experience for both English and Math. What drives me as a teacher is my passion for helping students realize their full potential—academically and personally. My approach blends structure with creativity, making learning both meaningful and enjoyable. With a background in psychology, I understand how students think, learn, and stay motivated. I use that knowledge to design lessons that are engaging, interactive, and tailored to each learner’s pace and personality. Whether it’s refining communication skills or solving complex equations, I aim to create a space where students feel confident, curious, and capable. Beyond teaching, I’m a professional chess master and a language enthusiast—constantly learning, just like my students. I believe that the best classrooms are built on connection, encouragement, and growth, and I strive to bring that energy into every session. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. I have been tutoring with GoStudent for a couple of months now, having formerly worked at museums, churches and summer camps. I enjoy working with children and am a former Sunday-School teacher and volunteer with several youth charities. I also have two years of classroom experience with Years 2 and 3, but am happy to work with students of any age, teaching English, Maths, History, Latin, and RE. I am a graduate of the University of Cambridge with a first-class degree in History, also having taken papers in Classics and Theology.
