I have worked as a lecturer at De Montfort University for over 15 years. I hold a PGCE in further Education, an MA in English Language Teaching, and a BA honours in English. I taught English for Academic Purposes at university. This enabled me to develop various teaching approaches at different levels of English usage. I have also taught KS3-KS5 in the UK and abroad during which I have been observed several times and demonstrated that I was outstanding. I have used various teaching aids ranging from pictures, flash cards, to a variety of IT techniques. I have also used peer interaction and assessment to develop learners. Teaching at university enabled me to teach presentation skills. This has enabled me to do the same during training, coaching and mentoring sessions with colleagues. I have mentored a number of tutors. In my experience as a university lecturer I have used a variety of online platforms to teach students during the Covid-19 pandemic. I began my journey into English in 2002 when I did a BA (hons) in English at Demontfort university. Following this I did an MA in Children’s Literature in 2005 due to my immense love of reading. However, it was only when I landed a job at a resources centre that I decided to specialize in teaching and so I did a PGCE in education and an MA in English language teaching both in 2007-2009. I absolutely love teaching since then - as cliche as it sounds it is truly my passion and the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. I love my students and to see them excel truly makes me content. I’ve been told that I have a gift for building a rapport with learners and I to feel this is something that comes naturally to me because as a student I myself struggled with being misunderstood and branded as a ‘bad student’. I feel as a result I can relate to students and their struggles more easily. I’m also very patient and an excellent listener.

Growing up in a part of Ireland rich in natural beauty, I developed a passion for hiking and camping, along with music on the Uillean pipes, Violin and piano. I enjoy language learning: specifically Spanish and Russian. Naturally, my main focus is Physics, which provides a constant challenge with every strange concept introduced I attended St. Michaels College, Enniskillen for my GCSE's, of which I obtained 8 A*s and 1 A, before switching to Enniskillen Royal Grammar School in order to pursue Further Maths. Here I obtained an A*A*A* grade in Maths, Physics, and Further Maths. I’m currently studying a Physics degree at the University of Edinburgh

For beginner Spanish learners, I introduce the basics of the language, including grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. I also provide opportunities for students to practice their speaking and listening skills through interactive exercises and conversations. In mathematics (KS1 and KS2), I cover key topics such as number sense, arithmetic, geometry, and data analysis. In geography (UK up to GCSE), I explore topics such as physical geography, human geography, and environmental issues. For history (UK up to GCSE and 11+ reasoning), I focus on key events, people, and concepts from different historical periods. Overall, my online lessons are designed to be engaging, interactive, and tailored to the individual needs of each student. I work closely with my students to ensure that they feel supported, challenged, and motivated to achieve their goals.

My names Diana and I am a second-year medical student at UEA offering KS2/3 and GCSE Maths, Biology, and Chemistry tutoring. I also provide comprehensive support for medical school applications, including personal statements, interview preparation, and guidance through the admissions process as well as UCAT support. I am currently a medical student at UEA Norwich Medical School, graduating in 2029. I previously attended Harris Westminster Sixth Form, achieving AAA in A-level Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, alongside an A* in my EPQ. I also attained excellent GCSE results and have experience tutoring younger students, developing both teaching and leadership skills.
