Hello! I am originally from Italy and have lived in London for the past 7 years. I have a passion for both languages and Maths and I’ve been teaching Maths for 3 years. My students describe me as a really patient person who explains things very clearly in a way that makes sense. I focus on building confidence and nailing exam technique. I attended a language secondary school in Italy, where I studied English, German and French as foreign languages. I then got my BA in Sociology and Politics at Goldsmiths University of London. After that, I trained to be a teacher through Teach First, achieved my QTS and went on to get my PGDE. I have been teaching at a school in Bromley for the past 3 years, and since last year I also took on the role of KS3 Lead within the Maths department, which has allowed me to develop my leadership skills.

Hello and welcome to my profile! My name is Joshua and I'm here to help your child master maths. I'm currently a 5th-year medical student with a passion for learning and teaching, and I'm actively working towards my ambition of becoming an Ophthalmologist, possibly practicing in the US. With over a year of tutoring experience, I have successfully completed almost 200 lessons with students of various ages and abilities, building a strong track record of helping them achieve their academic goals. Beyond maths, I also have valuable work experience helping primary school children with English as a second language improve their reading skills, which has further refined my patience and adaptability as an educator. My core teaching style is built on creating a relaxed and friendly environment. I believe students learn best when they are comfortable, which is why I actively encourage hard work, provide constructive feedback, and use small talk to foster a genuine, encouraging connection. When I’m not studying or tutoring, I lead an active lifestyle. I enjoy playing football, squash, and table tennis weekly, and I go to the gym daily for weightlifting and cardio. Grade 7/A in Spanish, Geography, English Literature, and English Language. This success continued into my A-Levels, where I secured an A* in Chemistry, an A in Biology, and a D3 (equivalent to an A) in History. Currently, I am navigating the exciting and challenging world of medicine as a 5th-year medical student at the Medical University of Sofia. My time in medical school—and my ambitious goal of becoming an Ophthalmologist—isn't just about science; it's about problem-solving, long-term focus, and breaking down complex information into manageable steps.
