Hi! I’m Akhshaya, and my passion for teaching has grown since secondary school. I’ve taught at two tutoring centres, where I gained experience supporting students with a wide range of abilities, learning styles, and learning difficulties. I’m passionate about making tricky concepts feel simple and helping students build confidence step by step. Finally, my comfort shows are Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra; I like to play netball, skateboard, and sing! I am a second‑year Biomedical Engineering student at King’s College London, where I study modules such as Medical Physics, Clinical Engineering, and Professional Issues in Biomedical Engineering. I completed my A‑Levels in Maths, Physics, and Biology at Beal High School and I have experience applying these subjects through both university coursework and tutoring. I hold a strong academic and professional background in Spanish language, culture, and education. I graduated in Hispanic Studies and later completed an MA at the University of Glasgow, where I developed advanced knowledge of Spanish and Latin American literature, history, politics, and cultural studies. My academic training gave me a deep appreciation of the richness and diversity of the Spanish-speaking world, from Golden Age literature to contemporary Latin American society. I am also a published poet. I have experience of teaching English Language and Literature. Alongside my academic qualifications, I also completed a PGCE and obtained Qualified Teacher Status through the St Mary's University. This provided me with strong pedagogical foundations in lesson planning, assessment, classroom management, and differentiated learning. I have experience teaching students of different ages and abilities and aim to create engaging lessons that build both confidence and linguistic competence. I have lived and travelled extensively in Spain and Latin America, experiences that significantly enriched my understanding of regional accents, idiomatic language, social customs, and cultural traditions. These experiences allow me to bring authenticity and real-world context into the classroom. My particular interests include Hispanic literature, contemporary Spanish and Latin American politics, cultural identity, film, and music. I am especially interested in helping students understand not only the mechanics of the language but also the cultural perspectives that shape communication across the Spanish-speaking world. I believe language learning should be intellectually stimulating, culturally immersive, and accessible to all learners. I attended Westminster School (10 O levels, 3 A levels), attained a 2:1 MA in Hispanic Studies at the university of Glasgow, completed my phd finance modules at university of Essex in 0212, received my QTS and PGCE from St Mary's university in 2024. I taught Spanish at Three Rivers Academy and GNSA in Hayes. My specialisations are Hispanic Culture, Literature and Art. I am an expert on world poetry and drama.

Alongside my A-Levels, I completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) on antibiotic resistance, an area of real scientific relevance. This independent research project developed my ability to think critically, evaluate complex information, and communicate ideas in a clear, structured way—skills that are essential for academic success and effective exam technique. I am currently a medical student, a highly competitive course that reflects both my academic ability and commitment to excellence. Studying medicine has further strengthened my understanding of science at a deeper level, while also training me to break down complex topics into simple, logical steps—an approach I use directly in my tutoring to help students understand, retain, and apply what they learn with confidence.

Hi, my name is Jaismeen and I am currently studying Aerospace Engineering. I tutor Maths, Physics and Spanish, and I enjoy helping students understand difficult topics in a clear, structured and encouraging way. My teaching style is patient and flexible. I like to break topics down step by step, check understanding regularly, and adapt my explanations depending on how the student learns best. If one method does not work, I try another approach, such as visual examples, real-life situations, practice questions or simpler explanations. I have previous experience tutoring children during summer breaks in my hometown, as well as experience babysitting and volunteering in local activities involving children and young people. These experiences helped me become organised, calm, responsible and supportive. As an Aerospace Engineering student, I have a strong background in Maths and Physics, and as a multilingual speaker, I also feel confident supporting students with Spanish. My goal as a tutor is to help students build confidence, improve step by step, and feel comfortable asking questions. In my free time, I enjoy science, space, reading, writing, drawing, video games, hiking and learning new skills. I completed my previous education in Spain, from P3 through to Bachillerato, which is equivalent to A-levels. During Bachillerato, my main subjects included Maths, Physics, Industrial Technology and Technical Drawing, as well as Spanish, English and Catalan. I also studied broader subjects such as literature, philosophy and history of philosophy, which helped me develop strong communication and writing skills alongside my STEM background. I have a Cambridge English certificate at B2 level, which gave me access to study in English at university, and I am multilingual. I speak Spanish, Catalan, English, Punjabi and Hindi, and I also studied French for three years at a basic level. My main specialisations are Maths, Physics and Spanish. I am especially confident explaining STEM topics clearly because I have studied them academically and also applied them practically. For example, while working in a local hardware store, I helped with tasks such as building and fixing appliances, making keys, and programming electric keys/controllers, which strengthened my practical understanding of technology and problem-solving. Outside of school, I have also taken part in robotics activities and I am involved in robotics at university. I have done theatre and participated in creative competitions, including creative writing, story writing, drawing and spelling bee competitions, which helped me become confident, creative and clear when communicating ideas.
