Hi, I’m Maite! I’m a native German speaker and teach German at all levels — Primary, GCSE, and A-Level. Besides German and English, I also speak French and Spanish. I hold a BA in Cultural Studies with a minor in Educational Science, which deepened my understanding of cross-cultural learning, communication, and how to make complex ideas accessible. During my time at university, I spent over three years tutoring children of different ages, working in a programme led by the German federal government to support children from migrant and refugee backgrounds in their school learning. I am now excited to work with adults as well. When I think back to my own school years, the teachers who inspired me most were those whose honest passion made even my least favourite subjects enjoyable. I hold a BA in Cultural Studies and Educational Science, which I completed at Leuphana University in Lüneburg, Germany. In addition, I hold a Yoga Alliance–approved 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certificate, complemented by an additional 50 hours of training in meditation.

I’m an ESL teacher with eight years of experience, and I genuinely enjoy helping students become more confident in using English. Over the years, I’ve worked with different types of learners, so I’ve learned how to adjust my teaching style depending on what my students need. Outside the classroom, I volunteer in my community, especially working with youth. This is something very important to me because I believe education can really change lives. It also helped me become more patient, understanding, and connected to the real challenges students face. I’m very interested in learning more about education and social issues.
