Hi, I'm Leigh, and I have a strong background in Civil Engineering. Hi! I'm Izy, and I recently completed my degree in Applied Linguistics at the University of Warwick - BA Language, Culture and Communication. I previously tutored younger children at my high school, and have since taught ESL in Peru, Ecuador and Mexico. I thoroughly enjoy both teaching English as a second language, and tutoring English subjects in the UK. I completed A-Levels in History, English Language and Maths (A*A*A), and am hoping to work as a paediatric Speech and Language therapist, after completing my Masters. I am competent in AQA Exam Boards. At University I competed at an international level for music, and really enjoy reading and learning new languages in my free time! I am currently obtaining my 120-hour TEFL certificate, as well as my Level 2 Understanding Autism qualification. I attended a state school, receiving eight grade 9s, and two grade 8s at GCSE, and A*A*A at A-Level (History, English Language, Maths). I recently graduated from the University of Warwick with a 1st Class BA Hons in Language, Culture and Communication (Applied Linguistics), completing a dissertation in phonetics & phonology.

I teach senior high school mathematics at all levels, from foundational to advanced. With years of experience as a government tax specialist and roles as a system analyst, programmer, and statistician in IT, I transitioned to teaching, which has always been my passion. I began tutoring in college to support my expenses and discovered the rewarding challenge of working with a student with dyscalculia. Through tailored strategies and building strong rapport, she succeeded. My diverse background has made me resourceful and innovative, enhancing my effectiveness in both teaching and problem-solving. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from St. Scholastica’s College, Manila, where I completed challenging courses such as Calculus, Statistical Analysis, Number Theory, and Linear Algebra. I also pursued post-graduate studies in Mathematics Education at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, focusing on educational strategies and child development, with research on learning disabilities. Although I couldn’t complete my thesis due to budget constraints, I am skilled in teaching all levels of mathematics, including Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Statistics, and Business Mathematics.

Very patient caring tutor with over 20 years of experience. I mainly tutor GCSE English and German, but I also teach the primary school curriculum including sats. All lessons are bespoke to the individual's request and level. I offer the student motivation and clarity with their exam work and with improving any areas that need addressing. I have excellent pass results and am very knowledgeable with all the examining boards. Everyone is unique but everyone can succeed. I am totally bilingual in German through my parentage and also lived in Germany for a number of years and worked there as an English language teacher. I attended the open university and achieved my degree in humanities after which I obtained my PGCE in primary education. I taught at various schools before I became a private tutor but found that being a tutor was far more rewarding. I enjoy my job immensely and I also teach online as well as one to one tutoring. I am always updating my knowledge of the current school curriculum and attend educational courses just to see what is going on and how things evolve in Education .
