Hi! I’m Mehmood, 19 years old and currently studying medicine (MBBS) at Hull York Medical School. While I absolutely love studying, I have many other passions that burn just as brightly — I’m into sports, gym, and cycling, and I’m always open to trying new ones! Some cool facts about me: I speak English, Pashto and Urdu. Also, I have a 4-year-old tabby cat called Misty, and I’m one of six siblings! I’d describe myself as calm, composed, and confident—and I’m excited to share my tips and tricks to help others rise to the top of their academics. I attended St. Peter's RC High School in Gorton, where I studied separate sciences, business, geography, religious studies, and core subjects, achieving 6 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s. I then studied biology, psychology, and chemistry at Loreto Sixth Form College, earning A*AB in my A-levels. During my medical school application, I achieved a UCAT score of 2750 Band 1, securing four medical school interviews and ultimately firming Hull York Medical School—where I am currently studying medicine (MBBS). Alongside my academic journey, I’ve been a private tutor for the past two years, helping students build confidence and achieve top grades in science and math. I also completed a 3-week teaching internship at COOP Academy, delivering science lessons to Year 8 and 9 students. Additionally, I’ve gained valuable clinical experience working in GP practices and hospital settings, consulting with patients and developing strong communication and empathy skills. My educational background reflects a strong foundation in science and a passion for teaching. I’m excited to share the strategies and insights that helped me succeed and to support students in reaching their full academic potential.

With over four years of experience tutoring maths and science, I’ve developed a structured and results-driven approach that helps students build confidence and master exam technique. As an MPharm graduate currently completing my hospital training year, I bring a strong foundation in clinical reasoning and scientific analysis to my sessions. My tutoring style focuses on consolidating knowledge through exam-style questions, allowing students to apply concepts in realistic scenarios. I begin by clarifying core principles, then guide learners through targeted practice using past papers and timed exercises. I began my academic journey at John Ruskin College, where I completed A levels in Chemistry and Biology, alongside GCSEs in English and Maths. I also earned a BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science and was awarded the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh for altruism. I’ve since graduated with an MPharm degree from the University of East Anglia and am currently completing my hospital training year as a trainee pharmacist. This clinical experience has strengthened my analytical thinking and deepened my understanding of scientific principles—skills I bring into every tutoring session. I’m currently a medical student and I really like passing my knowledge to young people and helping them achieve the goals that they want. I aspire to create a safe, friendly environment for students, where they can ask me for help whenever. With a deep passion for education, I strive to instil not only knowledge but also critical thinking skills and confidence in my students. I attended Southend High School for Girls and completed my GCSEs there. For A levels,I moved to Southend High School for Boys. Currently i am a medical student at the University of Nottingham. I have about a year of tutoring experience from beforehand, and i have worked at ExploreLearning for a few months.

I was born in Cape Town, South Africa. I moved to Ireland when I was 12 years old. I love Maths and English, but I decided to study Science in college. I love reading classic novels, writing funny stories, and watching Korean dramas. I enjoy travelling, cooking Asian foods and making my friends laugh. I look forward to helping more students! I wrote my Junior and Leaving Certificate in Ireland. For my Leaving Certificate, I studied English (H), Maths (H), Biology (H), Chemistry (H), LCVP (Common), Accounting (H) and French (H). I obtained my BSc. in Analytical and Forensic Science with a Distinction at LYIT (now ATU). I also have a TEFL Certificate for teaching English.
