Hey I am Si Yeun! I'm a PhD student researching heterogeneous catalysts, and I have 1 year of experience tutoring Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics for GCSE and below students. Having had some tutoring myself during my GCSE period, I know how much of a nerve-wracking experience it is for both students and parents. With my lessons focusing on teaching based on the students' learning style, I hope to put those nerves at ease. Below is the list of subjects I teach and at which level. KS1/2/3: Mathematics, Science GCSE (Including IGCSE): Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics Current PhD student researching new catalysts for acetylene hydrogenation. My MSc achieved a First (1st) class classification in Materials for Energy and Environment at UCL, where I specialised in the interference of tyre wear particles with atmospheric ice nucleation. Obtained an upper second (2.1) classification for my BSc in Chemistry at Cardiff University. While my speciality is Chemistry on paper, maths and physics are integral to what I do in my current and previous research.

I am a qualified teacher with 4 years of experience in teaching English. I currently teach Grade 1 learners in South Africa. I believe that learning should be fun and encourage a holistic development. I enjoy reading and hiking. I also enjoy trying out different kinds of food. I completed my matric at Wordsworth High school, thereafter I enrolled for Hospitality Studies at the International Hotel School and graduated in 2017. I further enrolled at the University of KwaZulu Natal for my BEd Degree and specialized in the Foundation Phase. I am currently a Foundation Phase teacher and teach Grade 1 learners. I am also currently studying for my Honors Degree at the University of Pretoria specializing in Learner Support.

I am passionate about continuing to grow in my career and making a positive impact through both my professional work and my interest in tutoring.

I am a full time tutor specialising in GCSE and A-Level Maths and Sciences. I have experience tutoring one-on-one GCSE and A-Level students and teaching small groups within a university setting. I have both weekday and weekend availability! My sessions are student led, with the emphasis being on building the student's confidence alongside their knowledge. We work at a pace that is best for the student and I focus on key misunderstandings and gaps in knowledge. I recently graduated from Durham University with a First Class (Hons) Master of Mathematics degree and I am continuing to build my maths skills aiming to complete a PhD. I have A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics A-Level. I have recent experience both teaching and learning these subjects at A-Level, so have key understandings of common problem areas.
