Hi there. James here, from South Africa. I taught in London in Walthamstow for my probationary year in 1991, and then in Johannesburg and Kwazulu-Natal in South Africa for a total of 21 years. I have taught Cambridge A Level History and England and South Africa's English and History curricula. I am also a published researcher, poet, and author. I enjoy cross-country running. I like NETFLIX mystery series. I regularly get out wilderness walking and cross country swimming. Since February 2025, I tutor English and Religious Studies for GoStudent. I battled with learning difficulties at school. However, I did very well after school, because I knew that English opens doors. So, I set goals. Then I achieved a B.A (1985) and a B. Ed (1996) degree, at Wits University in Johannesburg. I did a Masters Degree in Theology (Regent College, Vancouver, B.C., 2001) and a PhD in Church History (University of KwaZulu-Natal, 2016). I believe education is a lifelong journey. We master English every day for the rest of our lives. So I'm still learning as I tutor GCSE students, A Level students, and juniors, to reach their highest goals.

Hi, I’m Jace Steele, an enthusiastic and dedicated math teacher who believes that mathematics should be understood, appreciated, and enjoyed. I’m passionate about helping students discover that math is more than just numbers and formulas. For me, it’s about logic, patterns, and real-life problem-solving. I design my lessons to be interactive and engaging, using relatable examples and practical applications so students can see how math connects to their everyday lives. My goal is not just to help them get the right answers, but to build their confidence, strengthen their critical thinking skills, and develop a positive mindset toward learning. As a teacher, I value patience, clarity, and encouragement. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching approach to match their pace and learning style. Outside the classroom, I enjoy solving Rubik’s Cube puzzles and playing chess. These activities sharpen my analytical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills—qualities that I bring into my teaching every day. I strongly believe that with the right guidance, consistent practice, and the right mindset, every student can succeed in mathematics—and I’m here to guide them every step of the way. I graduated with a degree in Mathematics Education, where I built a strong foundation in mathematical theories, effective teaching strategies, and classroom management techniques. My academic training prepared me to design structured yet engaging lessons, differentiate instruction for diverse learning styles, and create a positive learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to succeed. Over the past seven years of teaching experience, I have continuously refined these skills in both classroom and online settings. This experience has strengthened my ability to simplify complex concepts, manage different learner needs, and adapt my approach to ensure that each student truly understands the material. Through years of hands-on practice, I’ve learned how to balance academic rigor with encouragement, helping students build not only competence in mathematics but also confidence in their abilities. Hi! I’m Amarachi, a Chemical Engineering student at the University of Nottingham. I teach maths and chemistry, and I’m passionate about making these subjects engaging and easy to understand. As a patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic tutor, I enjoy helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and practicing taekwondo, and I always appreciate getting to know my students' interests as well. I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Chemical Engineering at the University of Nottingham. At A level, I achieved grades A in Chemistry, Physics, and Maths, and at GCSE, I earned grades 8–9 in Triple Science, Maths, French and English Literature and Language. I have a strong understanding of the AQA, Pearson Edexcel, and OCR exam boards for both GCSE and A level.

Hiya! My name is Saskia, I am 18 years old and currently studying (BA) Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham. My hobbies include playing rugby and watching f1. I just completed my A-levels this past summer in Psychology, Biology and Maths, and I specialise in teaching psychology (A-level). I love revisiting A-level topics, especially social influence and memory. In addition to this, I teach GCSE maths. After doing Maths at GCSE and A-level, I am accommodated with many techniques to assist in teaching. I completed 10 GCSEs in 2023 (at the Royal Latin School), and then went on to achieve 3 A-levels in Mathematics, Psychology and Biology. I now study Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham. I have had experience in tutoring with bits of up to GCSE Maths and A-level Psychology.
