Hi my name is Gabriel. I am a 28 year old 11+ tutor. I love helping students prepare for their 11+ entrance exams. I have a degree in English from Rhodes University. I have a passion for teaching and for helping others grow. I have experience with helping students prepare for the GL Assessment 11+ test as well as others such as the Sutton Boys 11+ test. In 2018 I enrolled in a Bachelor of the Arts at Rhodes University in my home country of South Africa. Rhodes University has the best Humanities Faculty and the best English Department in the country and so it was a natural choice for me as I intended to study English Literature. I completed my triple major Bachelor's in English Literature, History and Philosophy in 2020.

I specialize in helping students build confidence in reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking. For me, English is more than just grammar rules and vocabulary—it’s a powerful tool for self-expression, creativity, and connection with the world. In my classroom, I create an interactive and supportive environment where students feel safe to share their ideas and take academic risks. I also understand that every learner is unique. That’s why I adapt my teaching strategies based on students’ needs, interests, and learning styles. My goal is not just to teach content, but to inspire curiosity, independence, and a genuine love for learning. I graduated with a degree in Secondary Education, majoring in English. My studies provided a strong foundation in teaching methods, linguistics, and literature. I learned to plan engaging lessons, manage classrooms effectively, and adapt my teaching to different learning styles, making sure every student feels encouraged and empowered.

I have been tutoring online since April 2018, predominantly helping overseas students learn English as a foreign language. Curriculum has ranged from Oxford Reading Tree to Reach, using a variety of subjects to help their learning process. Having been diagnosed with severe dyslexia when I was young, I have always had an affinity with those who struggle with education, and have had to develop my own way to learn efficiently, and use this experience to help others. I also hold an HND in music production, and have previously tutored 9 to 15 year olds Djing and music production.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education major in Mathematics, and I am also TEFL certified.
