My name is Jillian Rowe, and I am a passionate Mathematics Teacher who finds true joy in teaching. I love teaching because it deeply satisfies me to be part of my students’ success, and it is very rewarding to witness their growth and achievements. I teach Mathematics to learners of any age, and my mission is to make the subject more approachable and less intimidating. I also live by the belief of working hard until I reach success, a mindset I encourage my students to adopt as well. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading inspirational books, singing, jogging, and walking, which keep me motivated and balanced in both life and work. I am currently pursuing my Master of Education, Major in Instructional Leadership, at Pangasinan State University, where I have consistently maintained excellent grades. I previously graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor in Secondary Education, Major in Mathematics, at John Paul College, which gave me a solid foundation in teaching and learning. Alongside my formal teaching career, I have extensive experience in tutoring students of different ages, including a 5-year-old, a 13-year-old, and a 17-year-old, in both English and Mathematics. I also have meaningful experience working with students who have special educational needs (SEN), ensuring that I provide inclusive and supportive learning tailored to each learner’s needs.

In pursuit of my ambition to become a Software Engineer, I strongly believe tutoring gives me the opportunity to communicate and express scientific ideas. I am incredibly passionate about helping students and giving them the knowledge that I have gained across the years especially when it comes to teaching Mathematics and Computer science as I have studied these at A-levels, alongside Further Maths and Physics.

ABOUT ME I have a deep interest in history, human and physical geography, anthropology, technology, architecture and engineering. I especially enjoy the history and geography of languages and language families. I'm into all sorts of things if I'm honest. I am a keen traveller (but who isn't nowadays), audiophile and technophile, with a love for all kinds of technologies, analogue and digital, new and old. Thanks to COVID I learnt a lot of DIY skills through necessity. My house also has a garden full of fruit trees, so I guess that would make me an amateur gardener by default. I try to keep fit by cycling when possible, but my favourite sport is swimming. TEACHING EXPERIENCE/PREFERENCES The subjects I teach are History, English Literature and Language for GCSE and A-level, as well as ESL English. I tend to teach students aged 14+, so from Year 9 to Year 13 or more mature students for ESL, but I do have a few students younger than this. I use a variety of teaching approaches, ranging from traditional methods of text analysis to modern forms of teaching, such as interactive quizzes, questionnaires and even YouTube videos if they benefit the students learning style. Exam Board Experience: Experience of all English assessment boards, but especially AQA and Edexcel in the, and WJEC/Eduqas and OCR to a lesser extent. Languages: English: as a first language to advanced/professional level. Turkish: fluent to college level, but nor advanced enough for teaching purposes.

I love to travel and meet people from around the world. I lived in Dubai for 13 years and I am currently residing in Tbilisi ,Georgia .I love learning new languages and I am currently studying Spanish( I am on level B2, French(level A1), and Portuguese(level A1) I also speak Afrikaans. As an online tutor, I offer a range of subjects to potential students. For English as a second language, I focus on developing students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through a combination of interactive activities, exercises, and conversational practice. For English (KS 1 and KS2), my lessons are tailored to the individual needs of each student and cover key areas such as phonics, grammar, spelling, comprehension, and creative writing. I use a variety of resources, including books, videos, and games, to make learning engaging and enjoyable. For beginner Spanish learners, I introduce the basics of the language, including grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. I also provide opportunities for students to practice their speaking and listening skills through interactive exercises and conversations. In mathematics (KS1 and KS2), I cover key topics such as number sense, arithmetic, geometry, and data analysis. I use a range of strategies, including visual aids, manipulatives, and real-world scenarios, to help students develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts. In geography (UK up to GCSE), I explore topics such as physical geography, human geography, and environmental issues. My lessons involve interactive activities, discussions, and case studies to help students develop their knowledge and understanding of the world around them. For history (UK up to GCSE and 11+ reasoning), I focus on key events, people, and concepts from different historical periods. I use a range of resources, including primary sources, documentaries, and simulations, to help students engage with the subject matter and develop their critical thinking and analytical skills. Overall, my online lessons are designed to be engaging, interactive, and tailored to the individual needs of each student. I work closely with my students to ensure that they feel supported, challenged, and motivated to achieve their goals.
