Hello! My name is Erin, I am currently a first year medical student at the University of Birmingham. As a tutor, my main aim is to quickly determine a students weaknesses, then create a dedicated study plan to help them improve in those areas. I believe that active recall, spaced repetition, and lots and lots of past paper questions - are the key to success! I am well versed in tutoring students of all ages; I have tutored various students ranging from ages 6 to 16 in a variety of different settings. I am also experienced in entrance exam tutoring. Having sat several entrance exams over my lifetime, I understand how to make a study plan that is both time efficient and effective, and how to utilise this study plan effectively. I have previously mentored students who wish to study medicine through UCAS, entrance exam and interview preparation; several of them currently study at top universities, including Oxford and Cambridge! In my spare time, I am a highly creative person - I frequently attend dance classes, I music direct/conduct my university choir, and I scrapbook! I also love to read :) Currently attending the University of Birmingham Medical School - 1st year, Medicine. Attended a top London Grammar school; where I achieved 10 A*s (Grades 8-9) at GCSE level, and 3 As at A level in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology. In addition to educational qualifications, I also study the piano; I have completed my Grade 8 and am currently working towards my diploma in Music Performance!

My name is teacher dimakatso, I'm a certified ESL teacher, I hold a bachelor's degree in linguistics and my second major is English. I also have a 120 TEFL teaching certificate from TEFL Universal. I have been teaching English online for 4 years now. My teaching philosophy is student centered and interactive. I studied at University of Johannesburg from 2022 to 2025. In English, I enjoy reading into a text and finding deeper meanings to better understand the writer’s intentions and message. In Maths, I enjoy working through difficult questions, and using my problem solving skills to reach the answer. My hobbies include reading and writing, ice skating, and anything creative. I have worked with young people previously, volunteering as a Young Leader and, more recently, a Unit Helper in Girlguiding. I was also a reading ‘Super-tutor’ in my school’s reading programme, designed to help Year 7 students boost their confidence and skill in reading, meaning I would step in to cover for any tutors who were absent when they planned to meet with their assigned tutee, and I oversaw the running of the programme as a whole. I really enjoy seeing students develop and become more confident in their own abilities as tutoring progresses, and would love the opportunity to work with you and help you to achieve success in your studies! I attended a high school in the North East for my GCSEs, achieving Grade 9s in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business, Design and Technology, French, and Geography, and Grade 8s in English Language and English Literature. I stayed at my high school to complete my A Levels in English Language, English Literature, and Maths, and achieved three Grade As. I now attend the University of Cambridge studying English Literature.

Hi! I’m Erin, a 20 year old full time University student studying a masters degree in Astrophysics at the University of Birmingham. I love musicals and performing with my accapella group at uni. I also do a lot of running and love playing ice hockey. I attended Aquinas College, Stockport. Here I obtained an A* in A-level Physics and an A in A-level Chemistry and Maths. I also have 10 GCSEs, with a 9 in Physics, Biology and Food Preparation and Technology, along with 8/7 in all other subjects. Last summer I spent a week completing work experience as a Scientific Communicator at Kielder Observatory, where I helped out and led events teaching all about space to the public. Finally, I have spent the last year tutoring a GCSE student in Higher Separate Physics and Higher Mathematics.
