Hello everyone! I'm Teacher Sheila and I'm excited to be your math teacher this year! Math can be challenging, but it's also a powerful tool for solving real-world problems and thinking critically. I’m here to make math fun, accessible, and rewarding, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll accomplish. Let’s dive in and discover the world of math together! I graduated with a Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in Mathematics, in 2013 and later completed a Master of Education in Mathematics in 2018. With a decade of teaching experience, I am dedicated to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to reach their full academic potential. I utilize a variety of instructional techniques and materials, including online resources, to accommodate diverse learning styles and ensure that each student has the tools they need to succeed. My approach focuses on guiding students toward their educational goals, whether transitioning to postsecondary education, pursuing vocational paths, or achieving personal growth. I continuously assess and document both the academic and social progress of my students, maintaining thorough records and analyzing data to inform my teaching strategies. To keep parents and guardians involved, I communicate regularly through multiple channels and hold conferences as needed to discuss individual progress, aligning with school requirements and ensuring a collaborative approach to each student's development.

I am Jithmi Linara and I am currently a third-year student pursuing Aerospace engineering at the University of Liverpool. I am a very passionate and enthusiastic individual, and I would also say very hardworking. I do love swimming and spend an hour or two in the water when I have some free time. As a National swimmer, swimming has always been my burning passion. The experience of representing my motherland at various championships in the sporting arena has also taught me to relish challenges and work together with my teammates to achieve a common goal. I was the headhouse prefect and student representative at my school and this role as a leader made me what I am today. I was and still am a public speaker, I also have the ability to speak and communicate effectively with diverse groups of people with respect. I was given the opportunity to work as a student counsellor at a leading organization and this experience led me and shaped my personality as well and enabled me to maintain a positive attitude towards anything.
