I’m currently studying sociology at the University of the West of England in Bristol to become a teacher of sociology in the future! I love music- especially dance music- as well as animals (definitely a dog person!) and nature. My free time is usually spent going out with friends, playing video games, and going on walks. I am currently studying at UWE Bristol. Prior to this I studied at KLB at A-Level and GCSE. I have A-Level qualifications in sociology, psychology, and English literature. During my gap year I spent time working at my old secondary school/sixth form and have a year’s experience in tutoring both 1 on 1 and in small groups

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with Education units, giving me a strong foundation in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication. I’ve completed additional training and hands-on experience that strengthened my ability to simplify complex ideas and support students with diverse learning needs. Hi! I'm Tom, a recent graduate from the University of Birmingham with a degree in Physics! I am a huge fan of learning new skills and having fun whilst doing so... which is probably why I spent the last 5 months as a Ski Instructor in Canada! It's not only skiing I enjoy, though, as I also took up Gaelic Football at Uni and have played hockey, football and rugby for most of my life. I have graduated from the University of Birmingham with a First Class in BSc Physics. Academically, I specialised in civil and medical nuclear engineering, which continue to be a passion of mine since leaving Uni. I am continuing my passion for learning, though, as I have completed several online courses in Data Science and Computational Fluid Dynamics!

ABOUT ME I have a deep interest in history, human and physical geography, anthropology, technology, architecture and engineering. I especially enjoy the history and geography of languages and language families. I'm into all sorts of things if I'm honest. I am a keen traveller (but who isn't nowadays), audiophile and technophile, with a love for all kinds of technologies, analogue and digital, new and old. Thanks to COVID I learnt a lot of DIY skills through necessity. My house also has a garden full of fruit trees, so I guess that would make me an amateur gardener by default. I try to keep fit by cycling when possible, but my favourite sport is swimming. TEACHING EXPERIENCE/PREFERENCES The subjects I teach are History, English Literature and Language for GCSE and A-level, as well as ESL English. I tend to teach students aged 14+, so from Year 9 to Year 13 or more mature students for ESL, but I do have a few students younger than this. I use a variety of teaching approaches, ranging from traditional methods of text analysis to modern forms of teaching, such as interactive quizzes, questionnaires and even YouTube videos if they benefit the students learning style. Exam Board Experience: Experience of all English assessment boards, but especially AQA and Edexcel in the, and WJEC/Eduqas and OCR to a lesser extent. Languages: English: as a first language to advanced/professional level. Turkish: fluent to college level, but nor advanced enough for teaching purposes.
