Hi! I’m Karen, a passionate and experienced Maths and Science tutor with over four years of teaching experience. I hold a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, specializing in Industrial Chemistry and Petrochemistry. I achieved A/A grades* in GCSE Mathematics and Physics and an A in A-Level Maths. My strong academic background allows me to explain complex topics clearly and confidently turning challenges into achievable goals for my students! Having grown up with my mother, a French teacher, and spent several years in France during my engineering projects, I’ve spoken French from an early age and now hold a C1 level, making it one of my favorite subjects to teach! Hello! I specialise in tutoring Biology and Chemistry from GCSE to A Level. I focus on making complex concepts clear and accessible, using explanations, examples and strategies that suit each student’s learning style. I’m passionate about helping students strengthen their understanding, improve exam technique, and grow in confidence. I aim to make lessons enjoyable, productive and personalised to each learner’s goals. I studied at the University of Nottingham, completing a BSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine. My degree gave me strong foundations in cellular biology, molecular pathways and biomedical science, with particular interest in pharmacology and neuroscience. My dissertation involved both laboratory work and bioinformatic analysis of proteins, strengthening my practical skills and ability to interpret scientific data. I also have experience working in pharmaceutical analysis, giving me insight into real-world applications of biochemistry. Hi! I'm Izy, and I recently completed my degree in Applied Linguistics at the University of Warwick - BA Language, Culture and Communication. I previously tutored younger children at my high school, and have since taught ESL in Peru, Ecuador and Mexico. I thoroughly enjoy both teaching English as a second language, and tutoring English subjects in the UK. I completed A-Levels in History, English Language and Maths (A*A*A), and am hoping to work as a paediatric Speech and Language therapist, after completing my Masters. I am competent in AQA Exam Boards. At University I competed at an international level for music, and really enjoy reading and learning new languages in my free time! I am currently obtaining my 120-hour TEFL certificate, as well as my Level 2 Understanding Autism qualification. I attended a state school, receiving eight grade 9s, and two grade 8s at GCSE, and A*A*A at A-Level (History, English Language, Maths). Hi! I’m Mehmood, 19 years old and currently studying medicine (MBBS) at Hull York Medical School. While I absolutely love studying, I have many other passions that burn just as brightly — I’m into sports, gym, and cycling, and I’m always open to trying new ones! Some cool facts about me: I speak English, Pashto and Urdu. Also, I have a 4-year-old tabby cat called Misty, and I’m one of six siblings! I’d describe myself as calm, composed, and confident—and I’m excited to share my tips and tricks to help others rise to the top of their academics. I attended St. Peter's RC High School in Gorton, where I studied separate sciences, business, geography, religious studies, and core subjects, achieving 6 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s. I then studied biology, psychology, and chemistry at Loreto Sixth Form College, earning A*AB in my A-levels. During my medical school application, I achieved a UCAT score of 2750 Band 1, securing four medical school interviews and ultimately firming Hull York Medical School—where I am currently studying medicine (MBBS). Alongside my academic journey, I’ve been a private tutor for the past two years, helping students build confidence and achieve top grades in science and math. I also completed a 3-week teaching internship at COOP Academy, delivering science lessons to Year 8 and 9 students. Additionally, I’ve gained valuable clinical experience working in GP practices and hospital settings, consulting with patients and developing strong communication and empathy skills.
