Hi! I'm Simon, a Chemical Engineering Graduate from the University of Manchester, with over three years of teaching and tutoring experience. For the past 3 years I have been running a tutoring business teaching mostly Maths and Science subjects from Year 7 to A-Level. I completed a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Chemical Engineering with Industrial Experience at the University of Manchester, an accredited pre-chartership qualification within the field. It also enabled me to contribute meaningfully to the company’s work while developing essential workplace skills such as communication, project management, and adaptability. Since completing my degree, I’ve continued working with the same company, now in a professional capacity with a focus on sustainability. My final-year dissertation centred on sustainable surfactant research, which sparked a deeper interest in the environmental impact of chemical processes. This has led me to transition into a more corporate sustainability role, where I support the integration of sustainable practices across the business.

I’m a medical student with a passion for teaching Biology, Science, and Maths at primary and GCSE levels. Almost 10 years in higher education, I’ve learned two key things: 1) Every student can succeed with the right teaching approach, and 2) Learning should be active, using techniques like spaced repetition and active recall. I focus on breaking down complex topics, using examples, mnemonics, and past papers to help students understand. I’m patient and adaptable, always ready to find new ways to explain concepts if needed. Outside of academics, I’m passionate about sports, gaming, and tech. I’ve coached an under-15 basketball team and teach guitar at my church, which helps me connect with students and build trust to boost their confidence and performance. I graduated from Glasgow in 2020 with a 2:1 in Biomedical Sciences and am currently pursuing a medical degree. Hi! I’m Mehmood, 19 years old and currently studying medicine (MBBS) at Hull York Medical School. While I absolutely love studying, I have many other passions that burn just as brightly — I’m into sports, gym, and cycling, and I’m always open to trying new ones! Some cool facts about me: I speak English, Pashto and Urdu. Also, I have a 4-year-old tabby cat called Misty, and I’m one of six siblings! I’d describe myself as calm, composed, and confident—and I’m excited to share my tips and tricks to help others rise to the top of their academics. I attended St. Peter's RC High School in Gorton, where I studied separate sciences, business, geography, religious studies, and core subjects, achieving 6 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s. I then studied biology, psychology, and chemistry at Loreto Sixth Form College, earning A*AB in my A-levels. During my medical school application, I achieved a UCAT score of 2750 Band 1, securing four medical school interviews and ultimately firming Hull York Medical School—where I am currently studying medicine (MBBS). Alongside my academic journey, I’ve been a private tutor for the past two years, helping students build confidence and achieve top grades in science and math. I also completed a 3-week teaching internship at COOP Academy, delivering science lessons to Year 8 and 9 students. Additionally, I’ve gained valuable clinical experience working in GP practices and hospital settings, consulting with patients and developing strong communication and empathy skills. My name is Liezle. I am currently pursuing a career in science as a trainee laboratory assistant within the biochemistry and chemistry fields. Additionally, I’ve run my own business, taught middle school in Asia, and for a few years exercised my creative muscle as a fashion assistant. Anything outdoor involving wine and food with a friend, or a lazy day at the ocean or hanging around in a shopping mall is a good day. I truly love science. I am passionate about learning new things and applying my knowledge to real-world problems. I am always eager to collaborate with others and contribute to the advancement of scientific research, testing and analytical thinking! I am a 3rd year student at the University of South Africa; I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science with a focus on biochemistry and chemistry. I have also gained valuable experience as a general science educator for a few years, where I taught students within intermediate phase, in the chemistry, physics and biology disciplines. I am also embarking on a one-year laboratory assistant trainee program.
