Hi, I am Ashbury! I am an encouraging Maths and Physics tutor currently studying Physics at the University of Edinburgh, with over a year of experience providing personalised one-to-one tuition at GCSE and A-level. I enjoy building strong connections with my students, helping them to strengthen their understanding, improve performance in STEM subjects, and ultimately reach their academic goals! My sessions are structured to consolidate key concepts while developing exam technique through guided exam-style questions and targeted practice. There is a strong focus on developing problem-solving and resilience that can be applied to independent practice. Additionally, I have an in-depth knowledge of Maths, Physics and Further Maths specifications and questions at GCSE and A-level from teaching and personal experience. I am currently in 2nd year of a 5-year Physics Integrated Masters at the University of Edinburgh, where I have received an A1 (equivalent to a 90%+ first) in all my modules so far. Previously, I attended Sir William Perkins School in Chertsey for all of secondary school, where I achieved 4A* in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Art A-level. My familiarity with mark schemes and exam technique aided in this and supports my tutoring significantly. At GCSE I achieved 10 Grade 9 GCSE's, including all three Sciences, Maths and Further Maths. Additionally, I was Head Prefect at SWPS and also supported tutoring internally, often working with a range of ages.

I have a robust educational background that includes a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in Complex Systems Engineering that I am currently pursuing. Additionally, I am passionate about child psychology and have read extensively on the subject to deepen my understanding of how children learn. This has truly shaped my teaching style which involves alot of interactive discussions and problem solving which in turn leads to increased self confidence and reasoning ability in students.
