Hello! My name is Tanya, and I'm a Psychology student with a passion for learning and helping others reach their full potential. Having benefited from excellent tutors myself, I've seen firsthand the positive impact that dedicated support can have. Today, I possess the qualities of an effective, reliable tutor, including strong communication skills and a willingness to listen. I aim to support and challenge my students equally, adapting my explanations to ensure understanding and confidence in their chosen subject. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor my lesson structure to best suit their needs, helping to strengthen their understanding and self-confidence. I am currently studying a BSc Psychology degree at Bangor University, working at a First Class Honours. I had received AAA for my A levels, which consisted of Biology, Psychology and Sociology. My degree has given me a strong understanding of key theories as well as research methods, including both qualitative and quantitative research methods. I have experience in designing and conducting empirical research. Throughout my studies, I have engaged in a multitude of modules, such as developmental psychology, biopsychology, personality theory and neuropsychology. I have completed coursework that relied heavily on critical analysis of academic literature. Additionally, I studied at Sandhurst Sixth form where I took Biology, Sociology and Psychology as A levels, learning and building the necessary foundations for my university years. I conducted lab tests in biology and qualitative research for both psychology and sociology. I solidified by critical thinking and my ability to efficiently understand topics.

My name is Chloe, and I am currently in my final year of my masters! I enjoy teaching as much as I enjoy learning. I completed the International Baccalaureate where I went to study 6 subjects in sixth form at Dartford grammar, (rather than the typical 3 A levels). I then completed a degree in biomedical sciences (1st class dissertation), then went straight into my Masters. I am now in my final year of my masters studying to be a Physician Associate!

Hi, I’m Samara! I’ve been tutoring English at KS3, GCSE and A Level, as well as 11+ preparation, since 2022. I’m currently studying Law at a Russell Group university and genuinely love helping young people grow in confidence and reach their full potential! I teach students aged 8 to 18 and always aim to make my lessons engaging, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual needs. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building their skills at their own pace. Outside of teaching, I love music, cooking and documentaries :) I am currently studying Law at the University of Southampton, a Russell Group university, where I have further consolidated my strong skills in academic writing, critical analysis and clear communication. My degree requires me to understand complex information, construct well-supported arguments and explain ideas in a structured and accessible way, which are all skills I bring into my teaching! I have completed modules including the Foundations of Legal Knowledge, the core units for an LLB Law degree. Before university, I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma at Bexley Grammar School. My studies included English Literature, Global Politics and History which strengthened my essay-writing, analytical and communication skills. This diploma is notoriously more rigorous than A levels and has really helped me in preparation for university and for teaching A level English Literature. I also achieved strong GCSE results across subjects including English Language, English Literature, History, Religious Studies, Business Studies, French Mathematics and the sciences. As a former grammar school student, I also have a strong understanding of the 11+ process and the skills students need to develop in English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. I have been tutoring since 2022 and have experience teaching students from approximately age 8 to 18. I tutor 11+ preparation, KS3 English, GCSE English Language and Literature, and A Level English. I have worked with students of different abilities, including those who need additional confidence and support, as well as higher-achieving students aiming for top grades. In the past, I have led sessions with SEN students and first-time English learners hoping to do the 11+ or work towards sitting their SATS. Texts covered by me at GCSE level include Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, A Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls, poetry for both anthologies and many more. As for A Level students, I have covered Othello, Twelth Night, Jane Eyre, The Handmaid's Tale, A Street Car Named Desire, The Great Gatsby and many more. My lessons are tailored to each individual student. I aim to create a friendly and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their confidence. I use clear explanations, worked examples, structured practice and regular feedback to help students understand difficult topics and make measurable progress. I also adapt my teaching style depending on the student’s age, learning needs and goals, while keeping lessons engaging and focused. Teaching is something I genuinely enjoy, particularly seeing students become more confident and independent over time. I am patient, reliable and enthusiastic, and I take pride in helping students achieve their academic goals while also developing a more positive attitude towards learning :)
