I’m Ashwini! I'm currently doing a Masters in Natural Sciences specialising in Maths and Physics. I tutor online for GCSE and A-level Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Combined Science. I love helping students get that “click” moment, turning tricky topics into something clear, confident, and even enjoyable! Lessons are high-energy but structured: we build understanding fast, practise the skills that earn marks, and get real progress. Outside tutoring I play piano, rock climb, train in the gym/boxing and enjoy art. I’m currently studying a Masters in Natural Sciences at Durham University, specialising primarily in Mathematics and Physics. My degree is highly quantitative and has given me strong problem-solving, clear mathematical communication, and the ability to break complex ideas into simple, teachable steps. This background means I’m particularly strong at teaching key GCSE and A-level areas where students often get stuck: building physical intuition in mechanics (forces, moments, energy, motion), vectors, and the maths that underpins progress: algebra, trigonometry, and calculus (differentiation and integration) taught in an exam-focused, step-by-step way. I also studied Chemistry modules in my first year, which strengthened both my subject knowledge and my ability to teach Chemistry clearly. I’m confident supporting students with the parts of Chemistry that often feel hardest: moles, organic chemistry, bonding and structure, equilibria, acids and bases, and practical-style questions where method matters. Overall, my education means I can help students not just memorise content, but understand it well enough to apply it confidently in exam questions.

I am a dedicated and enthusiastic student who takes pride in balancing strong academic performance with personal interests. While I have a genuine passion for football, I always ensure that my studies remain my top priority. I approach my academic work with focus, discipline, and a willingness to improve. I enjoy learning new concepts, challenging myself, and consistently working towards achieving high results. I completed my secondary education at Shireland Collegiate Academy, where I developed a strong academic foundation and a disciplined approach to learning. During my time there, I built key skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent study, all of which have supported my academic progress. For my A-levels, I chose to specialise in Chemistry, BTEC Business and Mathematics—two rigorous and highly analytical subjects. Studying Chemistry allowed me to develop a deep understanding of scientific principles, practical laboratory skills, and the ability to analyse complex processes. Mathematics strengthened my logical reasoning, precision, and ability to approach problems methodically. Together, these subjects have equipped me with a strong analytical mindset and the resilience to tackle challenging material, such as Senior UKMT achieving gold certification. I am currently studying at the University of Birmingham, where I continue to build on the knowledge and skills developed during my earlier education. Being part of a leading academic institution has exposed me to a higher level of independent learning, critical analysis, and academic responsibility. My studies require strong time management, attention to detail, and the ability to engage with complex concepts in depth. I graduated in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Birmingham and teach Maths to students of all ages up to A level. I achieved A*A*A* at A level in Maths, Physics and Chemistry, reflecting the strong academic foundation I bring to my teaching. With my students, I ensure that their understanding of underlying methods is to the highest possible standard through rigorous practice. In my experience as a student, exposing yourself to different mathematical scenarios builds a great foundation for achieving the best possible grades. My biggest aim for my students is for them to constantly improve so that when they get to the exam, they are confident about any aspect of the syllabus that may arise. For my sessions, I will ask students what they wish to study and ensure I tailor the session around what I am told. If the student is undecided, I will plan lessons around pushing the student to challenge themselves in rigorous practice, with my guidance, around different mathematical concepts in their curriculum. For exams, my main aim is for students to achieve the best grades possible, meeting and exceeding their targets. My highest level of education is an MSci in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Birmingham. Prior to this, I achieved A*A*A* in A-level Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. I have over 3 years of experience tutoring students in Mathematics across a range of ages and abilities, up to A level. Through this experience, I have developed a strong ability to explain difficult concepts clearly, adapt lessons to each student’s learning style, and build both confidence and exam technique. My focus is always on ensuring students fully understand the methods they are using, so they can approach unfamiliar questions with confidence and achieve the best grades possible.
