I am a dedicated maths tutor with a strong background in actuarial science and several years of professional industry experience. My journey began by excelling in mathematics during high school, which led me to study actuarial science at university. Alongside my studies, I tutored fellow students in statistics and later worked independently with university‑level learners. These experiences taught me that many students struggle not because of ability, but because of confidence. I excelled in mathematics throughout high school and went on to complete a Bachelor of Commerce in Risk Management, majoring in Actuarial Science. Hi! I’m Laureen Caitlin, a passionate Math tutor dedicated to helping students aged 11–18 build confidence and actually enjoy problem-solving. Math doesn’t have to be scary, and I’m here to prove that! I love breaking down complex ideas into simple, easy-to-understand steps, making every lesson feel achievable and even fun. Seeing students go from “I don’t get it” to “I got it!” is what I love most about teaching. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy singing and exploring new hobbies which helps me bring positive energy and creativity into my lessons. I hold a Master of Arts in Education major in Mathematics from Far Eastern University and a PhD in Educational Leadership from Universidad de Dagupan. My students range from primary school children to adults, from A1 level to university pre-sessional courses. I have prepared university students for General English and Master's preparation courses in Business English, HRM, and STEM courses. I do not teach English Literature at GCSE level. I also have a Master's degree in Spanish and Italian. I have tutored these languages since graduating in 2010. I lived 10 years in Chile and around 5 years in Italy, which deepened my knowledge of the languages.
