I’m a third-year aeronautical engineering student who knows from experience what it feels like when lectures, textbooks, or problem sheets just don’t make sense the first (or fifth) time. I’ve been in the position where school support wasn’t quite enough, which is why I enjoy helping students bridge that gap and actually understand what’s going on, not just memorise steps. My approach is relaxed, patient, and focused on building confidence alongside knowledge. There are no silly questions here — if something doesn’t make sense, that just means it’s worth asking about as I strongly believe that asking questions is part of learning, and no one should feel embarrassed for needing things explained differently. Outside academics, I’m a big sports fan and still play football for my own club as well as my university team. I love the outdoors, animals, and generally staying active, which probably explains why I like explanations that are clear, practical, and grounded rather than overly abstract. My goal is to make learning feel less intimidating and a lot more achievable. My degree has strengthened my analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and ability to break complex ideas into logical, easy-to-follow steps — skills that translate directly into effective tutoring. During school, I took on leadership and mentoring roles, including serving as a Maths Ambassador, and went on to complete certifications in Sports Leadership, Mentoring in Violence Prevention, and Mental Health Ambassador training. Together, these experiences strengthened my communication skills, adaptability, and ability to build both understanding and confidence in others.

With years of experience as a former engineer in a Japanese multinational company, I’ve had the opportunity to live and work in Japan, Thailand, and Germany. Chatting with people from all walks of life? I also teach Maths (IB AI and AA SL and HL) for the MYP and IB Diploma Programme. I use resources from Pearson, Hodder, Cambridge, Oxford, Collins, Haese, and past papers as reference materials. Furthermore, I'm TEFL-certified and have been teaching English (ESL), Math, Physics, and basic Japanese (N5-N4) part-time online for several years. Moreover, I also currently teach Math to students from the USA in all levels. Finally, I have Japanese Language Proficiency N3 (Intermediate) Level certification, so I can teach N5-N4 (Beginner and Upper Beginner) level Japanese to those who are interested in this language.

Levels and Subjects I teach: I’m an English and History teacher with GoStudent. I can teach these at GCSE and A Level. As a professional writer I can offer academic and creative writing classes to adults and higher level students. I am a teacher of environmental science. I have an MSc in Conservation Ecology and extensive field experience in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Having studied and worked as a professional actor, I can also offer Drama/Acting classes to A Level. Languages: Apart from English, I'm also a fluent Spanish speaker. Preferred student age groups: I prefer to work with students from 10 years and older (to adults), however I have worked with students from 6 years up. About me: I have been a professional travel, environment, and creative writer for the last 20 years, and a teacher for the last 9. I have a background in acting, drama and conservation ecology and when it comes to teaching I draw on these skills to make my classes as fun, dynamic, and interesting as possible. I often use roleplay, music, media, and games to enhance students learning and understanding. Learning is so much easier when it’s fun and thought-provoking. I teach students from young children to the executives of large companies. Outside of my roles as teacher and writer I have also worked as an actor, journalist, conservationist and professional mountain and nature tour guide and tour designer. I love wildplaces. When not working, I love hiking, film, theatre, acting, travel, snorkelling, diving, photography, and martial arts. I also run workshops in creative writing. I have an MSc in Conservation Ecology from Oxford Brookes University. I decided to do this degree after living and working in Latin America, Africa and South East Asia for many years. Living and working as a guide, writer, and conservationist in these places inspired my love of the natural world. My degree is in acting and performance art. I was lucky enough to attend East 15 Acting School (which is now part of the University of East London) to study. I worked as an actor for many years, and I often include roleplay and drama in my lessons. For my A levels I studied English (A), Art (A) and Geography (B).

Hi! I’m Ann — a second-year medical student who loves painting, reading, and (recently) horse riding. I’m someone who genuinely enjoys learning new things, but I also understand how tough studying can feel when you’re stuck, stressed, or unsure where to start. That’s a huge part of why I tutor — I want to make learning feel lighter, clearer, and way less overwhelming. I’m not the type of tutor who just reads off a screen or throws information at you. I like to explain things in a simple, friendly way, break topics down into small steps, and make sure you actually understand the idea, not just memorise it. I achieved all A* in chemistry, biology and maths at GCSEs, and an A in biology for A-level through my time as a student I developed effective study techniques, which I use to support students in their learning.
