With a degree in Media, Culture & Social Sciences from the University of the West of England and as a fully qualified TEFL teacher, I bring a rich blend of cultural insight and academic excellence to my English teaching. Hi, I’m Anie Jo, a licensed professional teacher and TEFL-certified educator with a passion for teaching English and Biology! I love creating a fun, supportive space where students feel confident exploring language and literature. My goal is to make learning exciting through interactive lessons while building curiosity, cultural awareness, and strong communication skills. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, majoring in English, and I’m currently pursuing my master’s degree to deepen my expertise. With three years of teaching experience—two as a private tutor, one in ESL, and six months as a secondary teacher—I’ve learned to adapt to different learning styles and create engaging, personalized lessons that make learning enjoyable!

I have always been passionate about teaching Chemistry, Psychology, and Biology, and I have been tutoring these subjects for over a year. It has been incredibly rewarding to witness students grow in confidence and develop a genuine enjoyment for subjects they once found challenging. To see young people’s interest grow as they begin to learn sciences for the first time and to help them build a better understanding of this is very rewarding. My goal is to continue helping students improve their grades by making learning engaging and accessible. When a subject feels difficult, it can be discouraging to persevere, which is why I strive to create a supportive and enjoyable learning environment. As a tutor, I believe in adapting my teaching approach to each student’s unique needs, ensuring that they find the subject both approachable and interesting. I have achieved 10 GCSEs, in which I received: a Grade 9 in Chemistry, a Grade 8 in Physics, Food Preparation and Nutrition and Geography. 3 Grade 7’s in Biology, Maths and German and 3 Grade 6’s in English Literature, English Language and Religion, Psychology and Ethics. I have also achieved 3 A-levels and received: an A in Chemistry, an A in Psychology, and an A in Biology. I am currently studying Biomedical Sciences at the University of Bristol.
