I have been tutoring with GoStudent for over a year now, having formerly worked at museums, churches and summer camps. I enjoy working with children and am a former Sunday-School teacher and volunteer with several youth charities. I also have two years of classroom experience with Years 2 and 3, but am happy to work with children of any age, teaching English, Maths, History, Latin, and RE. Please note I do not take adult learners at this time. I am a graduate of the University of Cambridge with a first-class degree in History, also having taken papers in Classics and Theology. I won several prizes during my degree, including three prize scholarships and the Roy Porter Prize for History in my second year. During the sessions, I work with my students through the agreed upon topic paying close attention to the core concepts, we go through some exam-style questions, and also learn how to frame the answers in the way examiners expect. In my spare time, I enjoy singing (I'm currently taking a music theory class and hope to progress to one day play the cello) and dancing. These help me unwind and also have fun! I’m a 4th-year medical student studying abroad, with a strong academic background in A-Level Maths, Chemistry and Biology, achieving A grades in all three subjects. I offer tutoring in GCSE and A-Level Maths, Biology and Chemistry, and I’m passionate about helping students build both their confidence and understanding of the subjects. I first gained teaching experience through mentoring students during high school, particularly in GCSE Maths and Biology. Since then, I’ve worked with a number of students over the past few years, helping them work towards their academic goals and make significant progress. Seeing students become more confident and independent in their learning is one of the most rewarding parts of tutoring for me.
