Hello! My name is Abz. I provide 1:1 GCSE and KS3 Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics tuition across all major exam boards including AQA, OCR and Edexcel (to name a few). With over five years of tutoring experience and having achieved A* in A level Biology, Maths and Chemistry, I help students build confidence, strengthen their understanding and achieve their academic goals through personalised and structured lessons. My approach is calm, patient and tailored to each student's individual needs. I focus on identifying knowledge gaps, breaking down difficult concepts into clear explanations and building a strong foundation of understanding using diagrams and examples on the interactive whiteboard in the virtual classroom. Hey I am Si Yeun! I'm a PhD student researching heterogeneous catalysts, and I have 1 year of experience tutoring Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics for GCSE and below students. Having had some tutoring myself during my GCSE period, I know how much of a nerve-wracking experience it is for both students and parents. With my lessons focusing on teaching based on the students' learning style, I hope to put those nerves at ease. Below is the list of subjects I teach and at which level. KS1/2/3: Mathematics, Science GCSE (Including IGCSE): Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics Current PhD student researching new catalysts for acetylene hydrogenation. My MSc achieved a First (1st) class classification in Materials for Energy and Environment at UCL, where I specialised in the interference of tyre wear particles with atmospheric ice nucleation. Obtained an upper second (2.1) classification for my BSc in Chemistry at Cardiff University. While my speciality is Chemistry on paper, maths and physics are integral to what I do in my current and previous research.

ABOUT ME I have a deep interest in history, human and physical geography, anthropology, technology, architecture and engineering. I especially enjoy the history and geography of languages and language families. I'm into all sorts of things if I'm honest. I am a keen traveller (but who isn't nowadays), audiophile and technophile, with a love for all kinds of technologies, analogue and digital, new and old. Thanks to COVID I learnt a lot of DIY skills through necessity. My house also has a garden full of fruit trees, so I guess that would make me an amateur gardener by default. I try to keep fit by cycling when possible, but my favourite sport is swimming. TEACHING EXPERIENCE/PREFERENCES The subjects I teach are History, English Literature and Language for GCSE and A-level, as well as ESL English. I tend to teach students aged 14+, so from Year 9 to Year 13 or more mature students for ESL, but I do have a few students younger than this. I use a variety of teaching approaches, ranging from traditional methods of text analysis to modern forms of teaching, such as interactive quizzes, questionnaires and even YouTube videos if they benefit the students learning style. Exam Board Experience: Experience of all English assessment boards, but especially AQA and Edexcel in the, and WJEC/Eduqas and OCR to a lesser extent. Languages: English: as a first language to advanced/professional level. Turkish: fluent to college level, but nor advanced enough for teaching purposes.

Hi! I’m Catherine Solomon, a passionate tutor who loves turning tricky concepts into those “aha!” moments.
