I completed my GCSE's at Ormiston Forge Academy where I achieved grades 9-5 in 10 GCSE subjects, including Mathematics 6 and English 7. Additionally, I did my A Levels at Forge too, I got AAAB in Mathematics, Physics, Sociology and EPQ. As a result, I have completed my BSc Honours Mathematics degree with a FIRST CLASS scoring an average of 75.17%.

I’m a medical student with a passion for teaching Biology, Science, and Maths at primary and GCSE levels. Almost 10 years in higher education, I’ve learned two key things: 1) Every student can succeed with the right teaching approach, and 2) Learning should be active, using techniques like spaced repetition and active recall. I focus on breaking down complex topics, using examples, mnemonics, and past papers to help students understand. I’m patient and adaptable, always ready to find new ways to explain concepts if needed. Outside of academics, I’m passionate about sports, gaming, and tech. I’ve coached an under-15 basketball team and teach guitar at my church, which helps me connect with students and build trust to boost their confidence and performance. I graduated from Glasgow in 2020 with a 2:1 in Biomedical Sciences and am currently pursuing a medical degree. Hi! My name is Maryam. I'm 19 years old and a second-year midwifery student with a passion for healthcare and science. Studying midwifery has helped me appreciate the importance of having a solid understanding of biology as a foundation for anyone wanting to pursue a career in healthcare or related degrees. I tutor GCSE Biology with a focus on helping students build strong foundational knowledge in core topics such as cells, Organisation, Infection and Response, and Bioenergetics. I guide students through exam past paper questions helping them to identify and learn from their mistakes, develop exam technique and strengthen understanding by application of knowledge. Some of my hobbies include going on nature walks, baking and reading. I love spending time with my family and friends.
