Hi, I’m Jan Lloyd Francisco, and teaching Mathematics has always been more than just a profession for me — it’s a platform to inspire confidence and critical thinking. From the very beginning, I’ve believed that math isn’t something to fear, but something to explore. As a math teacher, I bring energy, creativity, and real-world relevance into every lesson. I love turning abstract concepts into meaningful experiences through interactive activities, collaborative problem-solving, and practical applications that students can connect with. My goal is simple: help students realize that they are capable of understanding and even enjoying mathematics. Beyond the classroom, I stay grounded and inspired through music and sports. These passions keep me disciplined, focused, and mentally sharp — qualities I also bring into my teaching practice. I graduated with a degree in Mathematics Education, where I developed a strong foundation in mathematical theory, pedagogy, and effective classroom management. My training equipped me with the ability to design engaging lessons, adapt to diverse learning styles, and foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment. I have also completed the academic requirements for the Master of Arts in Education major in Mathematics, further strengthening my expertise in advanced mathematical concepts, research, and instructional strategies. This graduate-level training has deepened my commitment to evidence-based teaching and continuous professional growth. Over the past four years in a formal classroom setting, I have handled diverse groups of learners, designed structured lesson plans, facilitated interactive discussions, and implemented assessments that promote critical thinking. In addition, I have been tutoring students for nearly five years, providing personalized academic support, simplifying complex concepts, and helping learners build both competence and confidence in Mathematics.

Hello! My name is Shruti and I have always been fascinated by technology and how it shapes the world we live in. I have a strong passion for mathematics and science. I enjoy the challenges of solving complex problems and finding different solutions, which strengthen analytical thinking as well as problem-solving skills. I believe this is very important because it helps us to understand problems better and enables us to break them down into smaller, more manageable parts, which is also very crucial to learn. This also allows us to evaluate options logically instead of just guessing. Alongside this, I love listening to music. Listening to different genres helps me to relax and stay motivated; it also enhances my focus, concentration and memory. For me, music also works by blocking out distractions and creating a very steady rhythm for the brain to follow, which further increases my level of concentration. I also enjoy learning different languages because I believe this helps with connecting to different people from diverse backgrounds. Cognitively, learning a new language strengthens memory, problem-solving skills, as well as concentration. Altogether, these skills helped me to build confidence and independence. Therefore, I became better at explaining new ideas clearly and in an easily understandable way. I also became better at learning new things and finding solutions quickly to different problems. This is extremely essential in fields like engineering and tutoring! Throughout my academic years, I have attended Queen Mary's High School, and after that, I attended Queen Mary's Grammar School for sixth form. Currently, I am a first year Computer Engineering Student at the University of Birmingham.During my school years and university so far, I have completed assignments, projects which have helped me to develop my analytical thinking skills and experience explaining difficult concepts easily. Furthermore, I have also done mentoring before in school, where I was teaching maths to a GCSE student, and this also enabled my skills to improve and gave me more experience of teaching.

Hi! I'm Nanaki and I'm currently in my final year at the University of Warwick. During my A Levels I studied Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Chemistry. Having a tutor really changed my perspective on Maths and I hope I can too help you love the subjects you find most challenging. I am a dedicated student of Mathematics and Actuarial Science with a strong passion for problem-solving and analytical thinking. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into simple, understandable steps—an approach I bring into my tutoring sessions. Outside of academics, I have a keen interest in sports including football, badminton, snooker, and golf. Before university, I completed my A Levels at St Dominic’s Sixth Form College, achieving an A in both Mathematics and Chemistry—subjects I now tutor. My success in these subjects has given me the confidence and insight to support students in mastering challenging concepts and developing effective exam strategies. I completed my GCSEs at Pinner High School, earning 11 GCSEs at grades 9 to 7, including top marks in Maths and the Sciences. This academic foundation has given me a strong understanding of the UK curriculum and the expectations of exam boards. Having recently been through the school and sixth form system myself, I am well placed to relate to students and provide guidance that is both up-to-date and practical. I aim to create a calm, supportive, and engaging learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, tackle their weaknesses, and build confidence in their abilities.
