Hello! Thank you for reading my profile, I'm Abbie, a postgrad student in Japanese and Chinese translation. I am passionate about teaching and motivating my students to branch out from topics typical at school. My key aims in all lessons are to make steps towards building students' confidence in the desired subject and building upon academic skills to feel prepared for exams or tests. I strive to ensure my students enjoy each lesson, feel safe in my lesson space and feel comfortable asking and discussing anything about the subject. I plan my lessons to fit each student's style of learning and interests for example studying the history of manga in Japanese lessons or diving into the world of gothic literature in English lessons - there is something for everyone! I can help with exam preparation and practice and provide extra support/materials for personal study. Subjects I teach (up to GCSE): English Language and Literature, English as a Second Language, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Welsh I have been tutoring for over 3 years now, both abroad and in the UK. I have experience working with students of all ages and with different abilities (including language abilities). I have N3 proficiency in Japanese and high proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (traditional and simplified).

I have a Masters in Creative Writing Oxford University. I've got a 2:1 from University of Sussex in Drama and Film Studies. I've worked with children ranging from 3 months to 18 years, in formal educational settings and at home. Hi, I’m Jolade, a medical student with A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and PE. I’m passionate about making learning engaging and helping students build confidence in science and maths. Outside studying, I enjoy playing basketball, watching movies, and exploring new foods. During secondary school, I completed my GCSEs achieving grade 8-9 across all 9 of my subjects. I then moved on to A-levels in which I studied biology, chemistry, maths and PE. I am currently in my second year studying medicine at the University of Nottingham.
