Hello! My name is Ruth, and I am a dedicated tutor with over five years of teaching and tutoring experience. What started as a hobby while I was at university has grown into a genuine passion for helping students learn and succeed. I believe that every student has a unique learning style, and I aim to adapt my approach to suit each individual's needs. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students can build confidence, develop their understanding, and achieve their academic goals. I studied Neuroscience at the University of Bristol and began tutoring GCSE Science before progressing to A-level Biology as I gained confidence and experience. I have also tutored Maths. More recently, I spent a year working as a teaching assistant in a primary school, where I gained valuable experience supporting younger children. My varied journey has allowed me to develop a broad range of teaching experience, from one-to-one sessions to small-group interventions, including supporting children with special educational needs (SEN). This has helped me develop an adaptable approach to teaching and a better understanding of the different ways students learn.

My name is Shandana Wahid. I am 18 years old and study Politics, International Studies and German at the University of Warwick. I am an experienced tutor with over 1.5 years of teaching experience in economics and politics. I have 10 GCSES, from grades 8-6, including maths, business and triple science. My experience at a grammar school enables me to use interactive, effective teaching methods to help my students improve their grades. I achieved an A* in A-Level economics, an A in A-Level Politics and a B in A-Level History. My teaching style centres on each individual student's needs, with a series of structured, goal-oriented lessons. Hello! I am a passionate English tutor with a degree in English Literature and Creative writing from the University of Warwick. I am also currently studying to become a full-time English teacher at secondary school level. My aim as a tutor is to make English feel approachable, engaging and enjoyable, while helping students to build the confidence they need to express their ideas and reach their full potential. I’m especially keen to support students whole might lack confidence in English or find the subject challenging. I studied English Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Warwick, where I enjoyed the wide range of texts and forms available, from Geoffrey Chaucer and Homer to modern texts dating well into the 21st century. My course covered poetry, novels, plays, films, graphic novels, and short stories across English and American literature. I also completed a film module in my final year, leaving me confident teaching Film Studies as its popularity grows in schools. Half of my degree focused on creative writing, where I particularly enjoyed screenwriting. Many seminars involved peer review, where I developed strong skills in giving constructive and sensitive feedback. I attended the Royal Grammar School, Newcastle where I completed my GCSEs and A levels.
