Hello! I'm Ali. I'm in my third year at the University of Edinburgh, studying English Literature. Having achieved almost 100% in my A level and GCSE English Lit/Lang courses, my goal as a tutor is not only to improve your grades, but provide you with the techniques that beat the system. English is more formulaic than you think, and I can't wait to show you how to ace it all. I'm passionate about drama, cooking and poetry and my favourite book is the Great Gatsby! I aim to make learning enjoyable and stress-free by breaking down complex ideas into simple, relatable concepts. My approach is patient and encouraging, aiming to help students feel comfortable and motivated to achieve their best and more while instilling confidence in their ways of thinking and problem-solving. I have completed my A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology and am now studying Biomedical Science, specialising in biology, chemistry and a certain level of maths as well. My studies emphasise critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on lab skills. Beyond academics, I have a strong background in teaching and mentoring. As a co-founder of our Sixth Form's first Medical Society, I guided my peers through everything needed to go through university applications, interviews for not only medical school but also related courses. I have continued this by mentoring first-year university students, helping them adjust to coursework and academic challenges, and personalising teaching methods for each student. My support has led to positive results, with the students excelling in assignments and finding my guidance invaluable.

Hi! I’m Sahib, a Mechanical Engineering student at a top 10 UK university who loves exploring how things work and finding creative ways to make them better. Outside of studying, I’m passionate about sports and fitness - from football, to padel, to boxing I try any sport I get the opportunity to play! Music and art are a big part of my life too, as I'm always listening to music and I draw from time to time to unwind. I love helping others learn and improve, and I try to bring the same energy and positivity from my hobbies into my tutoring sessions. I’m currently studying for a Bachelors of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering at a top 10 UK university, where I’m on track for a 2:1. My degree has helped me develop strong problem-solving and analytical skills, especially through modules like Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics. Before university, I studied at a state-funded school, where I completed my A-Levels in Mathematics, Physics, and Psychology, as well as my GCSEs graded 9–7 including Maths, English and Science.

I am an experienced educator with over fifteen years in teaching and mentoring, now specialising in English, Psychology, and Sociology up to A-level. My academic background includes a BA in Sociology, a diploma in Counselling, ACCHP accreditation, and I am currently completing a Master’s in Psychology at the University of Portsmouth. This academic journey, combined with my teaching experience, allows me to provide learners with both subject expertise and practical strategies to achieve success.
