Hi there, I'm a medical student at the University of York. I enjoy playing sports, especially football and am a Man Utd fan. I love reading and teaching and teach from primary school level, through secondary school and all the way up to A-level for certain subjects. Hi there, In my GCSEs, I achieved ten Grade 9s and one Grade 8. I then studied four A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Computer Science, achieving 2A*s and 2As. In between, I also sat BMAT and UCAT medical entrance exams in which I achieved a score of 3000.

My name is Arcel, and I’m 29 years old. I'm a Math teacher but I can also teach Science (Biology & Chemistry) and Sociology. I like also playing basketball and guitar—two activities that allow me to express myself creatively and stay active. Whether it’s on the basketball court or playing my favorite songs, I enjoy the challenge and the connections these hobbies bring. I graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education, Majoring in Mathematics (BSED-Math), and I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Teaching Mathematics. Shortly after, I successfully passed the licensure examination for teachers in September 2016. Currently, I am furthering my education by pursuing a Master’s degree in Teaching Mathematics. BSc Biomedical Science graduate, currently in medical school. I teach: Junior Certificate science (all levels), Leaving Certificate Biology (all levels), GCSE Biology and AS/A-Level Biology. I am passionate about making science fun, practical and easy to understand. Throughout my career and studies, I've been immersed in the complexities of science, and I understand how daunting it can seem. But I believe that with the right guidance, anyone can grasp it. That's why I'm here - to break down complex topics into simple, understandable concepts, making it accessible and engaging for my students. My teaching strategy is focused on exam-based lessons, helping students practice with marking schemes and key terms to refine their answers and maximise their scores. By working through past paper questions and understanding what examiners look for, my students build confidence in applying their knowledge effectively under exam conditions. I am familiar with several exam boards including AQA, Edexcel, CIE, and many more, and I tailor my lessons to align with each board's specific requirements. A typical lesson with me involves reviewing key topics to ensure a solid understanding of the subject matter. We'll start by discussing the areas where the student feels least confident, addressing any questions or difficulties they have. I then guide them through relevant exam-style questions, focusing on how to structure their answers using marking schemes and key terms. Throughout the lesson, I offer feedback to help improve their exam technique, highlighting common mistakes and strategies for tackling tricky questions. My goal is to make sure students not only grasp the content but also feel more prepared for the types of questions they will face in their exams. In 2020, I graduated from the University of Essex (UK) with a degree in Biomedical Science (BSc), giving me a strong foundation in Life Sciences, including Biology. Prior to that, I took my Leaving Certificate in Biology, Chemistry and Physics (all higher level) in Franciscan College Gormanston, Ireland. For my Junior Certificate, I took science at higher level and achieved an A.

I am an undergraduate student at Bayes Business School with a passion for tutoring and education. After completing my O and A levels, I realized the importance of personalized academic support in making a smooth transition between educational stages. I firmly believe that having access to tailored tutoring during my own studies would have greatly enhanced my confidence and academic performance. Since the beginning my tutoring journey, I have worked with students ranging from KS2 to A-Level and university-level subjects, helping them not only understand challenging concepts but also build their confidence in learning. I also broadened my academic experience with a semester abroad at the University of Texas, Austin. My specializations lie in marketing, strategy, business communication, management, and business innovation.
