The reason I chose to study this because it included using a lot of technical and problem-solving methods, it also included a lot of Mathematics which was one of my favourite subjects at school. I would say Algebra is one of my strong areas and I completed the Level 3 Edexcel Algebra award in secondary school. When I teach I primarily use a lot of worksheets and exam-style questions which will help the student improve on the subject and feel better prepared for any upcoming exams. If a student is struggling to understand a concept , I use diagrams, videos and allow them to have more practise until they are comfortable with the topics. Currently I am a teacher of Mathematics for secondary education, and I am also teaching adults as part of their CPD. When I am teaching, I use creative and critical thinking techniques to help my students to acquire in-depth understanding of fundamental concepts of mathematics. Part of my teaching consists of games, quizzes and other creative and fun activities that aim to make teaching and learning easier and more enjoyable. It is also important for me to help my students to learn how to solve word problems, which is a skill that students find hard to acquire. I enjoy walking, travelling, reading, sports and music. I have a Qualified Teacher Status to work in UK schools and I have 22 years of work experience in the UK, Greece and Cyprus.
