I’m a first-year medical student at UCL, and I studied Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A-level (plus an EPQ), achieving 4 A*s, as well as all A*s at GCSE. I know how challenging these subjects can feel, so I aim to make things clearer and less overwhelming. In my lessons, I focus on helping students actually understand the content rather than just memorising it. I like to break topics down into simple steps and explain things in a way that makes sense for you. I also help with exam technique, so you know how to use what you’ve learned to get the best grades. I completed my secondary education at Colchester County High School for Girls (CCHSG), a selective grammar school, where I studied from Year 7 through to Year 13. During this time, I achieved all A*s at GCSE and went on to take A-levels in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, alongside an EPQ, achieving 4 A*s. This gave me a strong academic foundation, particularly in the sciences and maths. Hello! My name is Emma, and I am a second-year Accounting and Finance student at Lancaster University. I achieved 9 GCSEs, ranging from 7-9, which allowed me to study Chemistry, Economics and Maths. I also gained an A* in my EPQ, which I completed in year 12, giving me crucial skills that I have carried forward to my degree. I have been tutoring for over a year. During this time, I have helped prepare primary school students for their SATS and gained more confidence with maths in the classroom. I also prepared year 11 and 13 students for their GCSE and A levels by covering content they were unsure of and practising exam techniques. I previously gained experience mentoring GCSE students at my school. I am a student with dyslexia, so I understand the challenges students face in classroom settings. Anyone can be successful, which is why my sessions are student-led, so that they are catered towards each individual's learning style.
