I'm Tilly, and I'm a second-year medical student at Oxford University. I have been tutoring for over three years now and love helping students in maths, science and for medical school admissions tests. I hope to be a friendly, approachable and enthusiastic tutor assisting students in their learning by helping them both understand topics deeply and enjoy their learning as much as possible. I studied at Putney High School, where I achieved all 9s at GCSE and A* in biology, chemistry, maths, and my EPQ. However, I am now a second-year medical student at Oxford University. I hold a first-class degree in Biomedical Science, with a strong focus on molecular biology, genetics, and physiology. During my studies, I gained extensive laboratory experience, including DNA extraction, library preparation, and NGS techniques, which strengthened my practical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Hi there. James here, from South Africa. I taught in London in Walthamstow for my probationary year in 1991, and then in Johannesburg and Kwazulu-Natal in South Africa for a total of 21 years. I have taught Cambridge A Level History and England and South Africa's English and History curricula. I am also a published researcher, poet, and author. I enjoy cross-country running. I like NETFLIX mystery series. I regularly get out wilderness walking and cross country swimming. Since February 2025, I tutor English and Religious Studies for GoStudent. I battled with learning difficulties at school. However, I did very well after school, because I knew that English opens doors. So, I set goals. Then I achieved a B.A (1985) and a B. Ed (1996) degree, at Wits University in Johannesburg. I did a Masters Degree in Theology (Regent College, Vancouver, B.C., 2001) and a PhD in Church History (University of KwaZulu-Natal, 2016). I believe education is a lifelong journey. We master English every day for the rest of our lives. So I'm still learning as I tutor GCSE students, A Level students, and juniors, to reach their highest goals.

I am a first-year university student studying Computer Science, with a strong academic foundation in both mathematics and computing. I specialise in teaching Mathematics and Computer Science, and I have hands-on experience supporting and teaching students within a primary school setting, helping them build confidence and understanding. I successfully completed the 11 Plus examination in Year 6, which reflected my strong academic ability from an early age, particularly in English and Mathematics. I then went on to attend Bartley Green Secondary School, where I studied a wide range of subjects including English, Mathematics, Triple Science, Religious Education, Geography, French, and Computer Science. Studying such a broad curriculum helped me become well-rounded and develop important skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, and clear communication. After secondary school, I attended King Edward VI College, Stourbridge, where I studied A-Levels in Mathematics, Law, and Computer Science. These subjects allowed me to strengthen my logical thinking and analytical skills. Mathematics deepened my confidence in tackling complex problems, Law improved my ability to form structured arguments, and Computer Science further developed my technical knowledge and passion for computing. Overall, my educational journey has been consistent, focused, and driven by a genuine interest in analytical and technical subjects.
