Hello! My name is Emma, and I am a second-year Accounting and Finance student at Lancaster University. I achieved 9 GCSEs, ranging from 7-9, which allowed me to study Chemistry, Economics and Maths. I also gained an A* in my EPQ, which I completed in year 12, giving me crucial skills that I have carried forward to my degree. I have been tutoring for over a year. During this time, I have helped prepare primary school students for their SATS and gained more confidence with maths in the classroom. I also prepared year 11 and 13 students for their GCSE and A levels by covering content they were unsure of and practising exam techniques. I previously gained experience mentoring GCSE students at my school. I am a student with dyslexia, so I understand the challenges students face in classroom settings. Anyone can be successful, which is why my sessions are student-led, so that they are catered towards each individual's learning style. If you are unsure of this throughout my school career, I have learnt different methods that work for me and would love to pass them on to others so that we can find a technique that works for you. I attended Rugby School, where I completed my GCSEs and A levels, and now I have gone on to study for a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance at Lancaster University, where my ambition is to become an ACA Chartered Accountant. Having studied Chemistry, Economics and Maths at A level, I offer tutoring for students up to and including year 11 in Maths and Chemistry and then Economics up to and including year 13 students.

I am a first-year Mathematics undergraduate at UCL with a strong academic record across mathematics and the sciences. Alongside my studies, I have always enjoyed helping others with their learning and regularly supported classmates at school when they needed extra explanation or guidance. This experience has shaped my clear, patient approach to teaching. I spent a gap year working as a teaching assistant in my local primary school where I primarily worked with year 6. However, I also had experience with years 3,4 and 5. I will also be doing placements in a further two secondary schools and a primary school for my qualifications at university My main hobby is gaming and esports such as Overwatch where I used to play professionally and reached top 100 ranked in Europe. I now play on the university team and also coached players to help them improve!
