I’m someone who is curious, motivated, and always eager to learn. I’m currently studying an undergraduate degree in Cybersecurity at university, and I really enjoy the challenge of exploring new ideas and developing practical skills that I can use in the real world. I like learning from constructive feedback because it keeps me motivated and helps me improve, both personally and academically. Outside of my studies, I have a range of interests that I’m passionate about. I enjoy reading, as it gives me a chance to explore new perspectives and ideas. I like challenges and enjoy pushing myself out of my comfort zone. For example, in Sixth Form, I chose to study Business and Law without any prior experience. It was tough at first, but fully committing to it taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of perseverance. I’ve found that these qualities carry over into all areas of my life, whether it’s learning something new, staying disciplined, or taking on responsibilities. Overall, I’m a person who enjoys learning, growing, and taking on challenges. I successfully completed my GCSEs, as well as Level 3 BTECs in Business, Law, and IT, achieving two Distinction* grades and one Distinction. In addition, I was awarded an IT certificate in Year 13, which helped deepen my knowledge and practical skills in technology. Hello! My name is Samantha, and I have just finished a PhD in History and Politics at the University of Cambridge. I wrote a dissertation on nineteenth-century Italian political thought and successfully defended it with no corrections recommended. I have been a university teacher (for both History and Politics) since 2023 and a tutor for schools and private customers since 2020. I also have direct experience with university admissions, having run Politics interviews at the University of Cambridge. As a teacher and tutor, I have found it very rewarding to use my expertise and enthusiasm to help students do well in their courses, become excited about what they are learning, and grow in confidence.
