I then attended the University of Exeter where I gained a Master's degree in civil and environmental engineering. I am also a qualified teacher of English as a foreign language having gained a Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. After graduating I taught in a secondary school in Devon where I gave lessons in person and online during national lockdowns. I helped students recover lost learning due to the pandemic and on average the students I worked with exceeded their target grades by an average of more than 1 grade. As well as my work in the UK I have taught maths and been the head of secondary school at a bilingual school in the Dominican Republic.
