I have been teaching English online for over three-years now. This has included English as a foreign language and GCSE/ A level English literature and language. I graduated last year with a first-class degree in English literature and Language in Cardiff University and received a scholarship in my second year for being the best performing pupil in my cohort. English teaching has long been a passion of mine and my role has evolved to encompass academic writing support, something that I feel should be taught in school and is sought after by examiners across all exam boards. My students always achieve their goals through hard work, regular tutoring and lots of writing practice! I am currently a part-time Master's student of a TESOL and Education programme in Cardiff and my intention is to lecture this subject in the near future after my PHD. Alongside my own studying, I volunteer at an asylum-seeker charity 4 hours a week teaching adults basic skills such as digital literacy, English communication and life skills. I am also responsible for about 4 young learners who I have taught consistently over the last three-years. Please read some of my lovely pupils' comments about their online tutoring experience with me below: -

Primary level maths KS3 Geography GCSE Geography Exam Board Experience: Edexcel and AQA I can speak English fluently Preferred student age group: 8-16 Hi! I have experience tutoring primary level math students and therefore have knowledge of the understanding students should have, as well as how to help them get to that level. I thoroughly enjoyed studying geography at GCSE and AS level as it is an extensive subject. This is evidenced as Geography covers a range of topics, including inequality in human geography to tectonic and coastal matters in physical geography. At GCSE, I specifically enjoyed studying the cases in response to the growing population issue in Kerala and China, and how these different places used different approaches to respond to this. Furthermore, the essay structure of writing longs mark questions at GCSE and AS Level can be daunting. However, upon understanding the case studies and how they would apply to the question, imbedding the facts to the question can be accomplished and I would love to help students out in tackling this. I found Edexcel as a specification really helpful, as the topics were interesting but also on the website, the learning outcomes needed to be known for the final exam were clear. I have studied geography for one year at university but for other reasons had to change this. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the modules I learned, which included looking into the wider carbon cycle and environmental issues facing our planet. I look forward to helping KS3 and GCSE students looking for support in the subject by using my previous experience in tutoring to give tailored and student-specific assistance. I enjoy listening to music; I will happily bop along to pretty much anything in the indie rock genre. I also love singing, mainly classical and opera repertoire and learning new arias is something I do in my spare time. I am currently a law student however have a passion for geography and find it a fascinating subject. The skills one can pick up from the subject is so cast it can apply to different subjects as well. I was a course rep during my year studying geography, where I was a voice for my cohort on any concerns about the course. Evidence of such a role having a positive impact was seen in one of the modules, the topic was so broad it felt intangible to get to grips with. I discussed and made an action plan with the faculty on how this could be addressed. The end result was a more cohesive manageable lecture content, which is a similar approach I hope to bring to students when I am tutoring. I enjoyed helping out on open days during my time at AS level and GCSE as I felt confident to speak to potential students about the topics in the course as well as convey this in an exciting way to spark the students interests or in some cases, reinforce an existing interest. I have received a ARSM Diploma in Singing and enjoy singing in the choir at university. I am also in a band, and we performed at a Varsity event (unfortunately we lost). However, it was a new experience for me which I really enjoyed. I like learning about new cultures and travelling when I can. I have been to India and Canada, which I enjoyed, and I cannot wait to see more of the world.

Medicine reject at A-level who decided to pursue biomedical sciences instead to explore several career routes in science. Upon further exploration through experiences in healthcare, decided to give medicine one more chance as a postgraduate degree and recieved an offer from Oxford for medicine. Interests include music, gaming and travelling. Tutoring GCSE and A-level Maths and Sciences for over 4 years helping over 40 students achieve their dream grades with a mean result improvement of 2 grades. I also assist in UK medical school admissions tests, personal statement writing and interviews (Oxbridge included). My teaching style heavily revolves around putting methods to practise by attempting several exam questions during lesson time. The goal is to familiarise yourself with exam techniques to the point where exam questions do not startle you. After moving to the UK in 2015, I pursued my GCSEs which I completed in 2019, achieving five 9s, four 8s and two 7s with 9s in Maths and Sciences. I realised my passion for science and decided to pursue Biology, Chemistry and Maths for A-levels where I achieved 3A*s. After being rejected from medicine, I decided to complete a BSc in Biomedical Sciences at UCL, achieving a 1st Class Honours. During my degree I realised my passion lies in medicine and decided to try one more time by changing key parts of my application. Luckily, I received offers from Oxford and Warwick for Graduate-Entry Medicine.

Subjects taught at GCSE: Italian and Spanish Subjects taught at A-level: Italian and Spanish Exam board: Most experience has been with Edexcel but I can familiarise myself with different specs very easily! Experience with: KS3, KS4, KS5 Languages: English, Italian, Spanish (fluent), French and British Sign Language (basic) Experience with disabilities/special needs: exam anxiety, nervous speakers Preferred student age group: Secondary school I am a recent Russell Group University graduate who has achieved a First class degree in Modern Languages, with a Distinction in Spoken Spanish and Italian. I fell in love with the Italian language over a decade ago and have been speaking it ever since! My relationship with Spanish started during my University career, but quickly developed during my year of study abroad in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. I have over two years' experience sharing my knowledge, experience and enthusiasm with students of various ages, and have supported pupils to prepare for exams or simply learn for fun. Having previously been a nervous speaker myself, my goal is to show students how capable they really are of holding their own in another language. I always make sure to identify pupils' learning preferences and areas of difficulty, and tailor my lessons to support each individual. In this way, I help learners to build stronger understanding of key concepts, excellent listening, reading and writing skills, as well as newfound confidence when speaking.

Lower Level: Mathematics GCSE: Mathematics Exam Board Experience: Edexcel Languages: English (Fluent), Filipino (Native) Preferred Student Age Group: Any About me: I study mechanical engineering at Queen Mary University of London (a member of the Russell Group universities). Whether we acknowledge it or not, maths and science are all around us in many obvious and invisible ways from how your wifi sends and receives data to how planes can fly. I chose engineering because it allows me to put my knowledge of maths and science to practical use in being able to create something in the real world. Everything man-made you can think of is the product of engineering. Because of this, knowledge is power, and with the right knowledge and tools, anyone can design anything. I aim to inspire students by making learning enjoyable, through a process that is at the student's pace - no pressure - and showing real-life applications in a topic to both prove its usefulness and to hopefully spark an interest in the subject. I will make sure that the student actually understands a topic so that they can not only answer standard exam questions easily but so that they can also use their solid knowledge of the topic to answer unfamiliar, "tricky" exam questions. Truly understanding a subject or topic in combination with a real interest in it can stick with someone for a lifetime. Being able to truly learn something happens when someone wants to, not because they have to. I also love music. I like to sing and play the guitar and piano.
