Hi. I'm Ade, and I have been tutoring successfully for over 7 years now, with over 100 students (over 3 years on GoStudent with over 40 students), Grades 7 to 12, GCSE, and A-Levels. I have a Bachelors degree in Geophysics, a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Education, and I'm currently doing a 2nd Degree in Mathematics. I keep my lessons simple, with a focus on consistent practice. I also tailor my lessons to fit the student and get the best out of them. Simply put, I help you understand the foundations of the concepts you're trying to learn, and we'll do lots of practice. I specialize in building students skill and confidence in facing and solving problems. I'm pretty good at it because I am always learning new things myself, so I never forget what it's like be a semi-beginner, and I tend to relate very well with my students experience. This helps me communicate very effectively and support them unconditionally, all the while holding them to high expectations (based on their ability). I am a learner, and I am very good at helping others learn. I look forward to hearing from you! I obtained my first degree in the physical sciences: a Bachelors degree in Geophysics. Afterwards, I obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) to hone my skills in helping others learn and achieve their academic goals. I am currently pursuing a 2nd degree in Mathematics.

"Hi Christine, Diarmuid here. I just got my results and I got the 2nd highest German grade you can get. You helped me so much and I can't thank you enough." Hello there! My name is Christine and I am a junior doctor. I have always been passionate about learning and sharing knowledge in a manner that's simple and enjoyable. With over 5 years tutoring experience, I focus on an engaging, holistic, and student-centric approach to tutoring, whilst sharing my passion and love for learning! I firmly believe the key to mastering anything is understanding the basics and then weaving them together to gain the bigger picture. I have worked diligently to hone my skils over the years, even applying them in my own studies in the medical field, and have been able to get testimonials such as the one above and: "Hi Christina only to let you know Felipe had a 6 in biology which is very good compared with the 3 in January! Hope we can work together from September. So, thank you x" - Pilar "Just to let you know Yousef passed all his GCSEs. Thank you." - Naz "Hii, it’s Mike. I just wanted to say thank you so much for helping me this year and I wouldn’t have done it without your help and support." During the sessions, I work with my students through the agreed upon topic paying close attention to the core concepts, we go through some exam-style questions, and also learn how to frame the answers in the way examiners expect. I also share effecting studying and memory techniques to enable them to better learn and master their content. In my spare time, I enjoy singing (I'm currently taking a music theory class and hope to progress to one day play the cello) and dancing. These help me unwind and also have fun! I look forward to extending this interesting mixture of fun and learning to my students and help the strike that oh-so-elusive balance between work and play so that they can become the best versions of themselves. Would you like to have similar testimonials as these? "hellooooo! hope your doing well. it’s the results day today, just letting you know that i got a 7 in german!! i am very happy with the results, thank you so much for all of your help i definitely wouldn’t have got this if it wasn’t for you 😁" - Shangami "Hello Christine, I hope you have had a good summer. New tutor
I am an encouraging, patient, and highly experienced GCSE and A-Level Chemistry tutor, with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for helping students build confidence and succeed. I hold a PhD in Bioengineering and Materials Science from Imperial College London, and I have also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford. My academic training began with a Master’s degree in Chemistry with Biomedicine from King’s College London, where I was recognised as the Most Outstanding Graduate. This journey has given me a deep and thorough understanding of chemistry, as well as the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and simply. Alongside my studies and research career, teaching has always been a core part of what I do. I have delivered university tutorials, supported undergraduate and Master’s students, organised revision sessions, and mentored students at different stages of their education. I also have several years of experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level Chemistry, both one-to-one and in small groups. My teaching style is calm, structured, and supportive. I believe every student can do well with the right guidance and approach. I focus on building strong foundations first — making sure key concepts truly make sense — before gradually moving on to more challenging topics and exam-style questions. This helps students feel confident, reduce anxiety around exams, and develop strong problem-solving skills. I am particularly experienced at identifying where students are getting stuck and adapting my explanations to suit different learning styles. Whether a student needs help catching up, strengthening their understanding, or pushing for top grades, I tailor each lesson to their individual needs and goals. Above all, I aim to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving steadily. My goal is not just to help students achieve better grades, but to help them feel confident in their abilities and develop skills they can carry forward beyond their exams. I have a strong academic foundation in chemistry and related sciences, combined with extensive experience in teaching, mentoring, and one-to-one tutoring across multiple educational levels. I completed a PhD in Bioengineering and Materials Science at Imperial College London, where I developed advanced analytical skills and a deep understanding of chemistry, materials science, and applied biology. My doctoral training strengthened my ability to explain complex concepts clearly, logically, and step-by-step — an approach that translates directly into effective teaching. Prior to this, I obtained a Master’s degree in Chemistry with Biomedicine from King’s College London, where I was awarded Most Outstanding Graduate in recognition of academic excellence. Throughout my undergraduate and postgraduate studies, I was actively involved in teaching and student support. I organised and delivered revision sessions, led tutorials for undergraduate and Master’s students, and regularly supported peers with exam preparation and problem-solving. These experiences gave me a strong understanding of common misconceptions students face in chemistry and how to address them effectively. Following my PhD, I held postdoctoral research positions at both Imperial College London and the University of Oxford. In these roles, I supervised and mentored students, contributed to teaching activities, and continued to refine my ability to communicate scientific ideas clearly and accessibly to learners with different backgrounds and abilities. In parallel with my academic career, I have several years of experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level Chemistry, as well as supporting undergraduate (BSc) students. I have worked with students of varying abilities, from those needing to rebuild confidence in the subject to those aiming for top grades. My teaching approach is structured and adaptable, focusing on building strong foundations before progressing to more complex topics and exam-style questions. Overall, my educational background and teaching experience allow me to combine subject expertise with a supportive, student-centred approach. I am confident in tailoring lessons to individual learning styles and helping students develop both understanding and confidence in chemistry.

What are A-levels?
A-level stands for ‘advanced level’, which gives you a good indication of how difficult they can be. Students usually work towards achieving their A-levels over two years, taking three or four courses in the first year of Sixth Form and three in the second year.
Are A-levels difficult?
The shift from GCSE to A-levels is huge, and many students get caught out as they’re expecting a gentle jump.
A-levels require an increased level of independence. Some kids thrive on this newfound taste of adulthood whereas others take more time to adjust.
What is an A-level exam?
A-level exams take place at the end of each year, with the second-year exam testing content from both years.
Non-exam assessments only make up 20% or less of the final grade. That’s why nailing the exams is crucial.
Who can take A-level exams?
Requirements vary between different schools and colleges, but generally speaking your child will need:
When will your child need help with their A-levels?
Many children benefit from tuition right from the start, as the jump from GCSEs is more like a vertical rock climb than a jog up a hill.
If your child struggles with planning their study time, their tutor can guide them on the best study practices and help create a learning schedule.
Why A-level private tutoring works
When should my child start revising for their A-levels?
How much time is needed will depend upon how much effort your child put in during the year and how hard they found the content. Ideally, leave at least a few months for revision and longer if they are taking more than three A-levels.
How do you revise for A-levels?
Just reading over notes and books isn’t enough to solidify information in the brain. Your child will need a study timetable so they can ensure they have time to revise everything in detail.
Our dedicated A-level online tutors will provide homework and exam papers to practise on and will keep you up-to-date on your child’s progress.
Book your free trial lesson today and breathe a sigh of relief. At GoStudent, we make sure that every one of our professional and experienced A-level tutors has been there, aced that, so your child is in safe hands.
How affordable is private A Levels tuition?
The cost of private A Levels tuition can be as low as £21.99. The price of each individual lesson is dependent on how long your child would like tuition support and how many lessons they take per week. The more they learn, the lower the price of each lesson! Why not book a free trial session for you and your child to see how we can help?
How many other levels does GoStudent offer other than A Levels tuition?
As well as private A Levels tuition, GoStudent can help your child with 11 other levels. Pick from many subjects including Italian, English, Physics. And with GoStudent your child isn't tied into one level. If they are taking A Levels tuition but then need support with a different level, we can help them get that support with a tutor specialised in that level.
