Primary: Maths, English, French, Spanish GCSE: Maths, English, French, Spanish Exam board Experience: 13+, AQA, IGCSE, Edexcel Languages spoken: French (Native), English (Native), Spanish (Fluent) Preferred student age group: Primary/Middle school/GCSE About me: Hi there! I'm Thibaud, originally from France but I grew up in London. I've moved around lots in my twenties and I'm currently studying a Masters in Outdoor Environmental and Sustainability Education at Edinburgh University. I'm passionate about education, but not just in the traditional sense. I want to give you, the student, the opportunity to learn in the way that's most comfortable for you. Love sports? Let's create a lesson using your favourite one. Are you more into music? That's great too, we can sing or play what we learn. My aim is for the lesson to be as fun as it is educational. A bit about my hobbies: I love sports, especially when I can be outside. I'm also learning to play the guitar and love to travel - I just spent my summer in Portugal, where I enjoyed living by the Ocean. Finally, I'm always looking for ways to live more ecologically, including in education. If that's something you'd be interested in, then I'd be delighted to explore how we create environmental lessons. I can't wait to go meet you and to go on the learning journey together. See you soon! I have an undergraduate degree in Spanish and Economics from the University of Exeter, which included a year studying abroad in Mexico. As part of my Masters Degree, I led school field trips to outdoor education trips on the Water of Leith, Edinburgh. I also have a 150 hour TEFL certificate.

GCSE - English Literature/Language A Level - English Literature/Philosophy My name is Jyotsna and my interests are in philosophy, reading and writing, hence why I want to teach the lot! My teaching style is mostly discussion-based - almost like Socratic questioning. I believe this helps ideas and concepts stay in your mind for longer, as the student is the one that has to do the intellectual heavy lifting. I have just started the first year of my philosophy degree at the University of Durham, after having completed English Literature and Philosophy A-Level. I have tutored a GCSE English student before and have also led KS3 philosophy society, where we have discussions based on the A Level Philosophy syllabus (Utilitarianism, Kant’s deontological ethics and Aristotleian virtue ethics).

Hi, I’m Harrison; I look forward to working with you! I hold a first class degree in English Literature, going on to study for an MA in public policy at the university of York. I achieved top marks at gcse (A*) and achieved a B in English literature and History at A-Level. That’s the academics out of the way, in terms of experience, I have tutored since 2020. I was volunteering with an educational charity called action tutoring, providing English and History tuition to groups of 1-3. These were children mainly on the borderline of a pass, looking to achieve passing and even top grades (including 8/9s)I have a good track record of tangible outcomes and was responsible for their progress throughout, keeping records of tests, progression and revision structure.. Some of these students also had significant challenges at home and at school, and so I developed a strong sense of resilience and motivation for education. A few students were also neurodivergent, and so I gained a appreciation and understanding of neurodivergence in education. Since then, I have kept tutoring throughout my university education and hope to do it as I study for my masters degree. All in all that's about 4 years experience! I pride myself on keeping my lessons personal and supportive, and will always ask for suggestions to improve and include the student in the direction of study. I enjoy politics, history, sci-fi and gaming! I hope that sounds convincing, and if so, I look forward to working with you! : ) I hold a B.A (hons) English Literature degree, awarded first class. My degree focused on a vast array of texts and study, and allowed me to have a wider skillset in order to tutor effectively. I am also studying for an MA in Public Policy at the University of York.

I have been teaching English for GCSE, Junior Cert and Leaving Cert, as well as teaching Junior Cert and Leaving Cert French online for the last two years. As well as this, I teach primary school Irish and Ordinary Level Irish for the Junior and Leaving Certificate exams. I also have experience in tutoring EFL students with a low-level of English and helping them to gain confidence in their language skills. I have guided many students towards achieving both higher grades and developing genuine interest in the subjects I teach through my engaging and clear teaching style. I strongly believe that when students are comfortable with their tutor, and when they have a say in what material needs to be studied, they find it easier to actively learn and to absorb the information which they are being taught. Hello, my name is Kirstie and I have been teaching for 21 years. I have spent time both in British secondary schools and in schools in Vietnam and Singapore. My main subject and passion is the study of History and I can teach this from Key Stage 3 all the way up to A-Level. My favourite period is the Tudors and I particularly enjoy the stories of the women of this time. I also tutor KS3 English and GCSE English Language and English Literature and am very familiar with AQA, Eduqas and Edexcel exam boards. I also have experience teaching Geography up to GCSE and find the two subjects actually quite complement each other with many of the themes over-lapping. I discovered a love for geography from my love of the great outdoors – I would often find myself on the top of a mountain admiring glacial landscapes and wondering how all the features were formed. This in turn links to my philosophy for education: I believe education should be a journey of discovery that allows the learner to move forwards with their knowledge and understanding of the world around them without putting them under so much pressure that they don’t enjoy it. I believe that effort is necessary in order to be successful, but that learning should not be a struggle or something that is dreaded. I am here to help students achieve their goals and become successful members of their community. In my spare time I enjoy running and drinking coffee with friends. I have 2 cats and have been married for almost 7 years. I am currently learning French in order to pursue my dream of moving to France to start a new life on the continent. As well as my degree in History and English and Literary Studies and my PGCE History, I have a TESOL certificate. I spent a month in Prague getting my TESOL and then taught ESL in Vietnam for 2 years. Outside of classroom education, I have my Lowland Leader award and spent 4 years running the Duke of Edinburgh award at my school.

I graduated with a First in BSc Medical Sciences Firstly, we will work out the student's weak topics using a past paper. Then, we will focus on those topics. I am good at explaining concepts in an easy-to-understand way. I use homework videos and questions to reinforce the student's knowledge. I also use end of topic tests and past papers. We will set time-specific goals, so the student has already achieved their target grade by the time their exam comes around. I know exactly what the examiners are looking for in your answers, so I will coach you on how to gain all the marks for each type of question. By the time we have spent a few months together, your understanding will have improved greatly.
