Hi there! My name is Kevin and I am an English and Irish teacher who recently moved to London to pursue an MA in Theatre Directing. I have been teaching several students both subjects over the past 2 years to great success. I have experience teaching English and Irish to all levels, History to GCSE standard and Performing Arts up to third level. Hi, my name is Rebecca, I am a second year medical student in UL. I previously studied science in UCD, where I graduated with a major in physiology, minor in Japanese, genetics and microbiology. I'm from Wexford and love going home every few weeks to see my family and my dogs. I can teach science to Junior Certificate level and biology to Leaving Certificate level, both at higher and ordinary level. I have some experience giving grinds to both JC and LC biology also. Preferred would be a biology student at any age, but I am also happy to teach both chemistry and physics at JC level. I speak fluent english. I studied in University College Dublin from 2017-2021, majoring in physiology, with minors in microbiology & genetics. Medicine is a rapidly changing field which requires an acknowledgment of life-long learning. During my studies of GCSE and A levels for chemistry and biology , my competence for scientific thinking has improved and has tied in with my ambitions and motivations to be a Doctor. This has broadened my method of approach to learning and has allowed me to use multiple ways in different situations to solidify my knowledge and understanding. This has proved extremely effective as it has enabled me to secure a place in a Russel group Medical School. One of these ways was realising that one of the best methods to test and improve my learning was to embrace teaching as a form of revision including teaching my peers various parts of the specification. This enhanced my appreciation for teaching and gave me the courage to become a tutor. Each individual is different, so in order to ensure the students I tutor can achieve their best, it is important for me to implement multiple methods of teaching as well as ways of revising. This will provide the students with a more personal way of teaching compared to something they may receive at school which may not be as tailored to their way of thinking and learning. Some methods includes mini-quizzing, simplified diagrams, question and process walkthroughs, and a balance of small visual, verbal , and audible cues which can make a huge difference to learning. Learning needs to be active and intuitive, so a variety of ways to learn is imperative. Maths and Science prevalently were my favourite subjects in school to learn as they had consistent logic which when understood was very rewarding. However despite enjoying the subjects, they can be equally as frustrating and require persistence. Appreciating the challenges and conceptual difficulties especially in Science and maths, helped developed my appreciation for different ways of effectively learning being required which helped me achieve all 8's and 9's in science and maths at GCSE and A's and A* at A level. Ultimately I believe being able to personally implement a range of methods to improve my own results will translate very well in my teachings to help students to also improve.

Hi! My name is Amy and I’m currently studying Maths and Philosophy at the University of Leeds. I am a Maths tutor aiming to help students between KS2 and GCSE level to enjoy and understand Maths. Beyond studying, I have a passion for dancing and love to perform on stage. When I am not dancing, I also love to solve puzzles and riddles. Initially, I attended All Saints Primary School. Then, I went to Greenbank High School and received 11 GCSEs with grades ranging from 7-9. I took a mix of GCSE subjects from Dance and Drama to History and Further Maths. After High School, I attended Runshaw College. I completed A-levels in Maths, Psychology and English Literature and earned grades AAC. I also completed an AS-level in Further Maths and earned a grade C. I am currently completing a BSc Maths and Philosophy honours degree programme at the University of Leeds. Hello, I'm James and I'm a college student at UCD. I'm currently studying Economics and Finance which is a heavily maths-orientated degree. Growing up, I have always loved maths and it was my favourite subject at Junior Cert and Leaving Cert level. I obtained 10 A's in my Junior Cert, including an A in maths in addition to 7 H1's at Leaving Cert. I received a H1 in maths (100%) and in Applied Maths (99%). I have been tutoring secondary school students for the better part of a year and I absolutely love it. Like most people, I have also had difficulty with Maths and I would like to use my experience to help others any difficulties they may have. Having completed secondary school in 2021, I am very familiar with all aspects of the Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate syllabi. Hello, my name is Kirsty. I am currently a PhD student at the University of Manchester studying maternal and fetal health. At secondary school I always enjoyed learning about Science and Maths, so after my GCSEs I decided to study A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths. Following this, I went to the University of Manchester to study Biomedical Sciences. Here I spent three years learning about various aspects of Biology such as Anatomy, Physiology, Neuroscience and Biochemistry. From my lectures I began to grow an interest in maternal and fetal health, which I pursued by completing my master's in reproduction and pregnancy. As well as increasing my knowledge about biology I also learnt laboratory skills and how to conduct experiments. I am now doing my PhD whilst also teaching undergraduate biology students at the university. Outside of academia I also enjoy going to dance classes, hiking and baking.
