Levels and subjects I teach: GCSE: Maths A Level: Maths, Biology Exam Board Experience: Further Maths - Edexcel Maths - Edexcel Chemistry - AQA Biology - AQA Language: English Preferred Student age group: GCSE & A-level Hi, my name is Michael. I am a friendly, patient and determined tutor. I recently finished my A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths. I believe that this experience puts me in a great position to share my knowledge to help other students because I know what is needed in order to excel in these subjects. I always like to focus on what you as a student need help with to ensure that you get the most out of every lesson, and spend as much time making progress as possible I would describe myself as methodical and systematic and I think my teaching style reflects this. First, I like to ensure that there is an understanding of the key principles of the topic. Then I like to break questions down and look at the key steps in the method for that question type. I think that repetition is extremely important and the key to mastering a particular topic is encountering as many different variations of questions as possible. So this is what I will encourage. I have previous experience teaching other students from my school A-level maths concepts which they struggled with. While preparing for A-levels I created some resources that enabled me to achieve 4 A*s in the subjects above and have helped other students. I would be happy to share these and other strategies I used in preparation for exams. Outside of academics, I am a relaxed person and enjoy a wide range of sports, my favourites being football and basketball. I also enjoy reading and spending time with family. Feel free to message me with any questions. Very friendly and professional company, with very helpful, supportive and friendly staff. The support care line on WhatsApp is great, they look into things quickly and bend over backwards to be accommodating and help in any way they can. My little girl tried one tutor at the start, who she loved but when his schedule needed to change we were anxious about getting another. However her new tutor is also amazing and knows how to speak to her to get her to work and work well. Her confidence is growing and she likes learning and doing activities for school now. I would highly recommend this company and these tutors to anyone. If someone over zoom, can get a 7 year old to pay attention and learn, plus enjoy it, then I can only praise them and admire their skill!

Jin exceeded our expectations! We are new to Go Student so we didn't know what it would be like. Our kids chose Jin based on his profile and he has been a great math tutor for the last month. He really listens & understands where where each of our kids is at. He communicates well & checks for understanding. He shares information well & is flexible when needed. We're definitely sticking with it. Well worth our money! Thanks Jin!

At first, I did not look positively because my son is 7 years old and the lessons are online. but I am grateful to them because of our teacher. He teaches at the computer, sometimes by playing games and sometimes by dancing. His English has improved in a short time but most importantly, he likes the lesson. When I say you have an English lesson, he gets happy as if I said we will play a game. I am very, very glad that we are a member here.

The benefits of biology tutoring

How can biology tutoring improve grades and self-confidence?

Many biology students struggle to keep up with what can be a heavy workload, and teachers don’t always have the time to answer all their questions or go into in-depth explanations. This can lead to students feeling overwhelmed and falling behind in their work, especially at a higher level.

GoStudent biology tutors offer one-to-one lessons that can address any problem areas as well as teach effective learning strategies. This leads to improved understanding and increased confidence.

Book a free trial with GoStudent today and we will set your child up with a biology tutor who can assess which areas your child needs help with and design an individual learning plan precisely tailored to their needs.

The advantages of studying biology

Biology offers a wide range of exciting job opportunities.

Academic careers include working as a research assistant, doctor or professor, and careers in industry and business include medicine, pharmacy or biotechnology. Animal lovers would no doubt find working in a nature reserve, zoo or wildlife park appealing.

Other potential jobs include:

  • Laboratory research
  • Public relations in nature conservation
  • Journalism in a specific field
  • Environmental professions
  • Agribusiness
  • The food industry
  • Animal research

Keep in mind that biology is a popular subject and competition can be fierce, so specialising in a chosen area can give your child an advantage.

What topics can be covered in online biology classes with a qualified tutor?

GoStudent has biology tutors covering every conceivable subject across all levels, including:

  • Zoology (the study of animals, mammals, amphibians, insects, invertebrates etc.)
