I'm literally so overjoyed to have had the amazing opportunity to join GoStudent as a tutor back in April 2023 and I just wanted to elaborate further on my academic and in addition extracurricular skills which have equipped me greatly to be able to shine a light on my own capabilities as well as my weaknesses at this time! I think that I have developed my communication skills via group work with the rest of the tutors and programme coordinators and also have had the privilege to really just go into further detail about what actually makes me tick and I really appreciate how supportive everyone has been in terms of my development and progress thus far. But how about he excitement of sharing a wonderful session with my tutees? We usually discuss the relevance of outside-of-the-box thinking and how phenomenal it is when the student and their loved ones get to choose what will happen during the lesson itself and also set the standards regarding the content to be covered so the sessions are usually quite fun and engaging to be honest! :-) I really enjoyed my time at the UCL School of Pharmacy while studying for the MPharm degree and I am just waiting to be able to sit some deferred final year exams and graduate hopefully quite soon following a recent gap year actually. I did graduate with a first in MSci in Pharmaceutical Studies back in October 2022. Now I am just in the process of applying for medical school and tend to spend my free time on either reading novels, playing the keyboard or making artsy-craftsy notes which will hopefully contribute towards a revision blog that I am starting to establish. I also like going for walks and exploring all sorts of new exciting places within London. I did of course go to Exeter medical school back in 2017 and left (for personal reasons such as the PBL structure of the course) before joining UCL in 2018. This means I am quite agile when it comes to things like discussing interview techniques and CV requirements if needed for individual students. I also tend to motivate my tutees to stay and CONTINUE with what they are doing rather than back away, especially in the face of challenges! This is because I myself wish I hadn't left medicine and now am re-applying so it indicates my perseverence and understanding of the new and surprising aspects of the course! ;)

Lower Level: Maths, Biology, Chemistry GCSE: Biology, Chemistry A-Level (IB): Biology, Chemistry Exam Board Experience: AQA, OCR, EDEXCEL Languages: Italian (fluent), English (fluent), French (Basic) SEND experience: During my time in sixth-form, I took the opportunity to tutor students struggling with learning difficulties. Here, I developed key skills which proved extremely useful for their progress e.g., altering my communication to their level of understanding while giving relatable and fun examples, ensuring that the students are actively engaged by asking continuous questions to assess their understanding, and each new lesson I conducted with each student was started with a quick recap of the previous lesson. I noticed that these small steps proved extremely useful in the long run for the child's academic progress. Preferred age group: GCSE (However I can also teach A-level and Primary School children) A bit about myself: I am charismatic and enthusiastic Barts and the London School of Medicine student, with a willingness to learn and grow in any field despite the challenges that may be presented. I consider myself well-rounded, excelling in both academics as well as sport e.g., Football (My favourite!) and have passion for social interaction. Through exposure to tough situations as well as reading books on the topics I have honed my emotional intelligence and communication skills which I have since applied to provide help in various avenues such as education. I've had leadership roles such as Headboy of the school and thus have developed strong rapports with students who look at me as a role-model as well as their parents, especially during information evenings where I had conversations on how "parents could best support their children". As a fluent English and Italian speaker, I've acted as a bridge and advocate for foreign students to make them feel integrated in the community. This has also proved useful when teaching students who's first language isn't English as my fluency in another language allowed my to better understand the students I've worked with. I am a published author who is passionate about writing short stories as means of expressing issues that many children are faced with. One such issue is bullying and I have published a book titled Scars the Bullies and The Bullied which aims to inspire readers to take action against bullying. I will work alongside my students, supporting them along each step of the way so that in the end, they can excel; not solely academically but also in life. Medicine Student at Queen Mary's London A-Levels: A*A*A (Psychology, Biology and Chemistry) GCSE: 999999876,Distinction* (Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, French, RE, English Literature, English Language, Sport Studies) Other Qualifications: Nuffield Research Project certificate, STEM SMART Certificate, Brilliant Scholars Programme, Extended Project Qualification on "Who would be Liable if a surgery went wrong during Robotic Intervention"

Hi there! I’m Teacher Michael, a 28-year-old educator based in the vibrant city of Olongapo, Zambales in the Philippines. I’ve been igniting curiosity and inspiring young minds for the past four years, and let me tell you, it’s been an incredible journey! My Teaching Philosophy I believe that learning should be as exciting as a great adventure! My classroom is a space where curiosity thrives, and every question is celebrated. Whether we’re exploring the microscopic marvels of microbiology or tackling big ideas about life and the world around us, I strive to make every lesson engaging, interactive, and relevant. What Sets Me Apart Science with a Twist: I use creative teaching methods to make even the most complex scientific concepts easy to understand and memorable. Hands-On Learning: Expect experiments, demonstrations, and real-world applications that bring theory to life. Mentorship: I’m not just here to teach—I’m here to guide, inspire, and help my students unlock their potential. Fun Facts About Me When I’m not in the classroom or the lab, you’ll find me hiking the lush trails of Zambales, working out in my local gym or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. I’m a self-proclaimed microbiology geek—yes, I do get excited about bacteria and fungi! I love turning everyday moments into teachable ones, whether it’s explaining how yeast works while baking bread or talking about ecosystems during a nature walk. My Vision My ultimate goal as a teacher is to empower my students to think critically, embrace challenges, and see the beauty of science in their daily lives. I want them to leave my class not just with knowledge, but with a lifelong passion for learning. Thanks for stopping by to learn a little about me! Let’s make learning an unforgettable adventure together! My Academic Journey I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science, which provided me with a solid foundation in science and a deep appreciation for the intricate wonders of life. Currently, I’m diving even deeper into the fascinating world of microbiology as I pursue a Master’s Degree in Medical Technology.
