I’m currently a student studying biomedical engineering at university. I have been tutoring for 3 years and enjoy seeing my students progress and improve. I have taught students from primary to secondary schools. Helping students be more confident and improve in their subjects is always very rewarding. I’m a very patient tutor so students can feel comfortable to ask me multiple questions about topics they don’t feel confident in. Hi my name is Mathew, I'm a 20 year old dental student studying in Bulgaria. From secondary school I have always been involved in helping fellow students understand topics in Maths and Science and would always be seated with someone during lessons so that I can help them. This way I have assisted 2 of my closest friends achieve high grades in maths and science during our GCSE's. I love teaching because it enables me to pass on knowledge and little tips and tricks I learnt whilst studying which will not only enable my students to understand topics better but also pass on this information to their peers. I'm really patient and can explain topics to students as many times as they need. I like to break things down and approach difficult questions and problems via simplified routes which enables students to build up their understanding from the basics of the subject. Outside of teaching I enjoy being active and playing sports, especially cricket and badminton. I also love cars and love learning about how things work. Majority of my secondary school education was at Thomas Becket Catholic school. Here was where I was first introduced into teaching by my maths teacher who would make me sit with people that struggled with the subject so I can help them. I'm also an avid reader gravitated towards the fantasy genre, personally I am a fan of Lord of The Rings, as well as all the other stories that J.R.R.Tolkien had written for the world of Arda, A Song of Ice & Fire is also another favourite of mine delving into a deep and dark setting, with a more pronounced adult tone, building a vast expansive world full of mystery, eldritch horror and slight bits of magic scattered around, while still emphasising the realistic nature of humans. Anime is one of my first passions an introduction to the Japanese language in the form of animation, flashy visuals and cultural phenomena that paved a path for the youth of my generation the art and creativity put into those shows has really instilled the same characteristics in me. Originally I studied for a BA in Natural Sciences. I have been a classroom teacher and tutor for over 15years, in the UK as well as South Korea, Japan and China, and more recently have developed Science courses for a large online learning platform.
