I’m Isabella, a friendly biology and chemistry tutor as well and a full-time biomedical science student at Lancaster University. I am passionate about my subject and am keen go share this with my students. In my A-levels I achieved A*A*A and nine grade 9s at GCSE. Being in the education system myself allows me to pass on helpful tips and tricks which resonate and from my experience really helped me to improve my grades. Outside of my studies and tutoring I am a keen table tennis player and compete for my university team, I also enjoy cooking and walking in nature. In my GCSEs I achieved nine grade 9s including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Further maths. In my A-levels I achieved A*A*A in Biology, Chemistry and French respectively. I am currently in my second year of my Biomedical Science degree at Lancaster University and intend on doing a year in industry.

Hi, Im Lia! I'm a second year psychology student at Loughborough University. Studying psychology, I am constantly learning about people and the way that our brains work both individually and together. This includes studying the most effective ways to learn and recall information. My AS and A-Levels consisted of 3 core subjects, so I have an array of expertise when it comes to exam technique. With my goal of becoming a secondary teacher, I am really looking forward to bringing my passion and enthusiasm to the virtual classroom. I already have a few years experience tutoring secondary students, so have discovered firsthand the best ways to engage and assist my students in whatever way they need. More informally, I’ve often found myself helping friends understand difficult topics, and I’ve learnt how to adapt my explanations depending on who I’m speaking to. These experiences have made me realise how much I enjoy teaching, especially when I can find the right approach to make a tricky concept click. I try to make sessions engaging but focused, and I’m always thinking about how to present information clearly and logically. Away from study, I really enjoy football - I love playing fantasy league and keeping up with scores. I also like to read non fiction (especially Wikipedia these days!) to broaden my knowledge on a wide range of topics. This helped me develop the ability to communicate with clarity and confidence. In addition, I completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and was awarded an A* for my work. My project, titled The Role of Health Literacy in Preventative Children's Medicine, deepened my understanding of the educational principles used in healthcare and how they can be applied within broader educational contexts.

I’ve had many years of experience volunteering with schools helping students excel in subjects that they find difficult.
