Hi, I'm Josh, an 18-year-old from Norwich, UK. I'm currently enjoying my gap year before I leave to study Economics at Sheffield University. I'm currently working as a mentor in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science at a leading UK Sixth Form, where I was a previous student and mentoring online outside of this. Despite my relative youth I also have previous experience mentoring GCSE maths at a local high school and privately. Additionally, whilst in Vietnam, I taught English to prospective IELTS students. Outside of mentoring, I enjoy racquet sports, running and skiing as well as good books and good music.

About me: I am completing my Physics degree at the University of Manchester and used to compete in Physics and Astronomy competitions at school, which inspired me to pursue a career as a scientist. One of my hobbies is astronomy, especially stargazing and tracking meteors during meteor showers. Still, my true passion is to make knowledge accessible to as many people as possible and use science to make the world a slightly better place. Lower level: Mathematics, Science GCSE level: Mathematics, Physics A-level: Mathematics, Physics Higher level: Physics Programming languages: Python, C++, LaTeX SEN experience: I have worked with year 7&8 SEN students for a few weeks as part of my teaching internship, helping them with their Science lessons. Preferred age group: I don't have a preferred age group; I simply want to work with someone willing to put in the work and communicate openly about their struggles. Any additional languages: Bulgarian I am currently completing my Physics undergrad (preceded by a foundation year) at the University of Manchester. I graduated from one of the most elite high schools in my home country, which focused on Maths and Computer science. I used to compete in Physics and Astronomy competitions and olympiads, where I was one of the top-performing students. Before I studied Physics, I studied Architecture for two years at the same university - I wanted to try something different, since I love arts and see myself as a very creative person, but realised that science was my true passion and switched to Physics, where you find me now. I have worked several part-time jobs and completed several internships to support myself alongside my studies. These include an internship as a civil servant, part of the Government Operational Research Service, and the National Teaching Internship Programme, provided by the Department of Education. The teaching internship involved teaching GCSE and A-level Maths and Physics to students between years 7 and 12 in a few local schools and colleges. This experience helped me realise how much I enjoy teaching, fostering critical thinking skills in others, and guiding them towards discovering their passions. It also taught me how inclusive and expansive science can be and how crucial education is.

I am a 19 year old Aerospace Engineering student currently in Queens university having a passion to teach maths, computer science and physics and make students understand and view problems in a better way. I am looking to teach students aged between the start of secondary school, all the way to A-levels in the subjects specified above. My passion for teaching came when I was helping students from lower down in my school when i was in a society for further maths and we were helping students catch up to their peers in understanding topics in maths. Please contact me if you are interested in learning maths, physics or even computer science. I attended The Liverpool Blue Coat Grammar School where I had the interest of studying Aerospace Engineering and so took Maths, Further Maths, Physics and computer science for my A-levels. Medicine reject at A-level who decided to pursue biomedical sciences instead to explore several career routes in science. Upon further exploration through experiences in healthcare, decided to give medicine one more chance as a postgraduate degree and recieved an offer from Oxford for medicine. Interests include music, gaming and travelling. Tutoring GCSE and A-level Maths and Sciences for over 4 years helping over 40 students achieve their dream grades with a mean result improvement of 2 grades. I also assist in UK medical school admissions tests, personal statement writing and interviews (Oxbridge included). My teaching style heavily revolves around putting methods to practise by attempting several exam questions during lesson time. The goal is to familiarise yourself with exam techniques to the point where exam questions do not startle you. After moving to the UK in 2015, I pursued my GCSEs which I completed in 2019, achieving five 9s, four 8s and two 7s with 9s in Maths and Sciences. I realised my passion for science and decided to pursue Biology, Chemistry and Maths for A-levels where I achieved 3A*s. After being rejected from medicine, I decided to complete a BSc in Biomedical Sciences at UCL, achieving a 1st Class Honours. During my degree I realised my passion lies in medicine and decided to try one more time by changing key parts of my application. Luckily, I received offers from Oxford and Warwick for Graduate-Entry Medicine.

I would like to say a big thank you to Georges El Kerr for tutoring my daughter in the latter part of her GCSE exam. His help was invaluable, my daughter has improved tremendously. It has been brilliant experience of tutoring through go student for 12 months journey. My daughter had v good learning experience through online booked lessons weekly basis. Tutor was very understanding, full of good knowledge and energy. Also very flexible/adequate to the requirement. Tutor was very pleasant and was delivering good lessons to meet the require standard. I will definitely recommend this ‘Go Student’ company for online lessons for their children. They have all sorts of require standard yet my daughter was doing GCSE preparation with them. Also technical staff and customer service was excellent too as was in touch with me time to time for feedback. So if anyone looking for good online tuition please do join as it does works out better and under your budget not costly once you are on yearly plan and enough lesson package works out for the whole year! So strongly recommended! 👍🏻🙏🏻

Geraldine is an excellent tutor. She is very flexible with the schedule. She can teach both English and French Math and can easily switch with no issues. She has been very helpful and coordinating the progress to me. Smart lady and really nice. My son like her better than his Math teacher. He said he understands it better with Geraldine. I highly recommend her. But hopefully her schedule will not be super busy as she is really is a great pick. Planning on continuing with her tutoring my son up until he graduate high school.
