Hello! I’m an experienced English Language, Literature and Primary Maths Tutor and an English as a Second Language teacher with over five years of teaching experience. From a young age I had a passion for teaching; setting up my dolls and teaching them about whatever I had learnt that day at school, now I have the opportunity to do that and see the results of what we have gone through. Throughout sixth form, alongside my A-Levels I would tutor the younger pupils and help them gain confidence and find enjoyment in learning. now at University, whilst I no longer have the opportunity to do this I now volunteer at the local hospital organising activity evenings for the patients there. GCSE - English Literature/Language A Level - English Literature/Philosophy My name is Jyotsna and my interests are in philosophy, reading and writing, hence why I want to teach the lot! My teaching style is mostly discussion-based - almost like Socratic questioning. I believe this helps ideas and concepts stay in your mind for longer, as the student is the one that has to do the intellectual heavy lifting. I have just started the first year of my philosophy degree at the University of Durham, after having completed English Literature and Philosophy A-Level.
