I have availability for students Mondays and Wednesdays daytimes only. I also work with students on a weekly basis at a minimum to ensure momentum and consistency for the student. I have been an educator and trainer for over 17 years and love nothing more than seeing students achieve their goals. I am a scuba diving instructor as my main role and work all over the world. I enjoy watching Netflix and love diving even when I am not in work. I have been lucky to see a lot of the world through all my roles during my career. I tutor 11+, English up to the end of year 9 only and also tutor mathematics and science up to GCSE. I have knowledge of all UK countries curriculum and also the German curriculum. I myself completed the 11+ equivalent when younger and understand the commitment and learning that is needed to succeed. My favourite subjects in school were maths, science and physical education. I am also experienced in working with children with additional learning needs.

I have been tutoring online since April 2018, predominantly helping overseas students learn English as a foreign language. Curriculum has ranged from Oxford Reading Tree to Reach, using a variety of subjects to help their learning process. Having been diagnosed with severe dyslexia when I was young, I have always had an affinity with those who struggle with education, and have had to develop my own way to learn efficiently, and use this experience to help others. TEFL 120 Hours Certificate Bachelors Degree for the Arts I hold a bachelors degree in film, and have been a prolific writer since my childhood years. GCSE: English Literature and Language A Level: English Literature and Language Experience with: Welsh and English schooling system Preferred student age group: Primary level Ever since my parents introduced me to the world of Roald Dahl and Beatrix Potter, my love for English language and literature has exponentially increased. Before moving to London for university, I lived on a farm in Wales with my family - and many cats! Due to babysitting my two younger cousins for the last five years, I have realised that I love to work with children. I am in awe of their ability to view the world from a perspective so different from the regular adult we encounter every day. My favourite book of all time is 'Silence of the Girls' by Pat Barker. This novel is an essential read, not only for women, but also the male population. It illustrates how the current state of affairs within the international sphere replicates modern day phenomena, with violence against women repeatedly being used as a weapon of war. Thus, my interest in gender-based scholarly studies and the international feminist movement is continually growing. Whilst I love to read in my spare time, I also enjoy singing and meeting new people. However, when I am not singing or socialising, I enjoy playing table tennis and badminton with my older brother. Not only this, but I love fashion and keeping up with the latest trends. Whilst I enjoy keeping active, as illustrated by my part-time lifeguarding job throughout secondary school, seeking the greatest bargains in charity shops is something I could not live without. I am easily distracted by stories, both fictional and non-fictional, and I hope I can bring a fresh and compelling perspective to GoStudent! Education: London School of Economics and Political Science I grew up on a farm in the middle of Wales, attending both primary and secondary school in my neighbouring town. After achieving six A*s, one A and one B in my GCSEs, I was very intrigued to discover how A Level education could continue to challenge me. After receiving three As and an A* in my A Levels (the A* being in English literature and language), I decided to go to the London School of Economics and Political Science to study Politics and International Relations. Despite not studying English in university, I have found that the endless essays I was required to produce have undoubtedly contributed to the continuous improvement of my English skills, and my love for English in general. I have completed my first year in university and look forward to returning to see what second year has to offer! Despite currently being in higher education, I am certainly very excited by the prospect of teaching younger children and helping them to discover how English can be fun! Of course, education is about learning and discovering our strengths, and how we can improve in other weaker areas to enable us to be the best possible version of ourselves! However, if we are not enjoying ourselves when learning, this obviously makes education seem less inviting! Thus, I am a passionate advocate of ensuring that education is not only enlightening, but also enjoyable and fun. I often babysit my two younger cousins and I love to read to them all of my favourite books as a child, as well as teach them new and impressive words they can use in school to show off to the class!

I would like to say a huge thankyou for the amazing service my son and I received. From the customer service advisor to the manager and tutor, all were extremely helpful and full of genuine care and concern. The flexibility, organisation, professionalism and rapport with the students and the parents was refreshing. Professional yet family feel. Thanks to the wonderful Uneake, Alan Harding and last but certainly not least, my son's math tutor Ikechukwu. You made it an academic and memorable experience. The detailed feedback from Ikechukwu after each session of what was covered and also being available throughout the week to answer questions via WhatsApp was highly informative and appreciated. Great team all round ! Will be using again for the younger kids. Thanks to Uneake, Alan and Ikechukwu from my son also !

I really like the change in tutor, she brings out the best in my daughter! I haven’t been impressed with some aspects of go students customer service, especially prior to daisy we had a change in tutor with little or no assistance from go student; we weren’t consulted on the new tutor and that particular tutor ended up not being the right fit at all for my daughter, she was very sad. We also know the customer service manager Daniel has left but I haven’t been advised of his replacement. With that said the lady who arranged for daisy to be placed as my daughter’s tutor was absolutely amazing, calm, patient and really committed to finding a suitable replacement for daisy.

English tutoring to improve grades and self-confidence
Studying English at school includes technical aspects of the language such as grammar and vocabulary, and English literature focuses on text analysis and creative writing.
English-related skills such as reading and writing are vital throughout school, regardless of the subject matter. Learning how to communicate your thoughts clearly boosts self-confidence, improves vocabulary and leads to better exam results.
GoStudent English tutors offer one-to-one lessons tailored to your child’s needs, helping them understand where their weaknesses are in their written work and working with them to improve their writing style.
The advantages of studying English
English is an essential subject in the national curriculum. All students are required to pass English exams at primary school and English makes up one of the three core GCSE subjects in secondary school.
Studying for an English and Literature A-level or an undergraduate or master's degree can be hugely rewarding. Not only will you learn a great deal about the language, you will also be introduced to radically different ways of understanding and explaining the world.
An English degree can open the door to a wide range of career opportunities in fields such as teaching, editing, journalism and law. There is also a growing market for teaching English as a second language either at home or overseas, where the demand might be higher.
English tuition at primary school
English tuition at primary school is an excellent way to prepare for the future. Studying reading and writing helps with English language skills in general, and learning about different authors and their works may very well ignite a passion for reading in your child, laying the foundation for study at a higher level.
English exam preparation and English revision classes
GCSE exams are the qualifications students take at the age of 16. GCSE English provides a solid foundation for studying humanities courses at a higher level, and skills taught include writing essays, reading comprehension and text analysis.
If your child choose to continue to study English Language and Literature at A-level, it's extremely important for them to achieve a solid GCSE foundation.
