Hi there! I'm English tutor Daniela and I have taught English for more than 10 years. I started teaching English in 2011 when I was still a college student. This was an online teaching job in which I was tasked with assisting the employees of a large oil company with their e-learning course. Later on in 2014, I was offered a teaching position at the university where I had graduated from. I taught English as a second language to more than 5000 students over the course of 5 years. In 2019, I moved to Spain and decided to resume my online teaching career. During these last 3 years, I have taught English to young learners and adults from multiple nationalities and linguistic backgrounds. During all these years, I have met wonderful and smart students from lots of countries across the globe. Each student I have encountered along the way has taught me that learning takes place when you feel safe, comfortable, understood and above all when you are having a great time. The most fundamental aspect I always bear in mind when I teach a lesson is: students do not learn from people who they do not like. Fun memories stick with us. Speaking of fun things, I love learning about philosophy, learning new languages, reading and watching animated as well as sci-fi movies. A language must be seen as something that is alive not as a static set of rules in a book. My intention in every class will show you how language is all about real communication and how context is everything in language learning. There are great habits that effective language learners need to develop and I will share them with you, so that you optimize your learning process. After graduating from high school, I immediately started my bachelor’s degree in the teaching of English as a second language. I graduated from university in 2013 with the bachelor’s thesis: “A professional development program in the public school Hugo Angel Jaramillo through pondering upon content and language integrated learning” and became an English teacher. While I was still carrying out my university studies, I took the TKT course and test. TKT stands for Teaching Knowledge Test and it is offered by the University of Cambridge. The course as well as the test have three modules. Module 1: Language and background to language learning and teaching. Module 2: Lesson planning and use of resources for language teaching. Module 3: Managing the teaching and learning process. Later on in 2019, I took a 120 hour TESOL certificate course which allowed me to brush up on some teaching basics. In 2020, I started my master’s degree in the teaching of English and Spanish as foreign and/or second languages in the University of Alicante. I graduated in 2021 with the master’s thesis “Implementing an online gamified flipped classroom to address emerging shortcomings in the rapidly evolving EMI field”.

I am a 22 year old who puts her heart and soul into her passion, which is teaching. I absolutely love people, interacting and getting to know people. I love being creative, whether it be planning my next lesson for a class or molding something with clay, I am always busy! I am a good balance between introverted and extroverted because I do treasure my alone time for some self care masks and watching a comfort movie. I love reading and spending time with friends and family. I always believe in staying kind because you never know what someone else is going through at home. I love sushi as well! It has most probably always been my favourite food! I am a fourth year student studying Foundation Phase education at Stellenbosch University. I have completed a 360 hour TEFL course, exemplifying my love for the English language. As a specialized Foundation Phase educator, I firmly believe that the knowledge I have gathered will help build strong foundations for my students in their journey to English success. I have a good practical experience and am able to adapt different teaching styles to best suit a students needs. Learning concretely and using movement while learning, although it will be through a screen, makes learning more engaging and a fun way to gain knowledge!

In Schottland habe ich auch mein Bachelorstudium in Umweltwissenschaften absolviert. Durch meine Studien habe ich hervorragende Englischkenntnisse sowie eine starke Grundlage in Biologie und Geographie erlernt. Ich bin zudem in einem Deutsch-Französischem Haushalt aufgewachsen und habe in meiner Kindheit lange in Belgien gelebt. Hierdurch sind auch meine Französischkenntnisse gut. In meiner Schulzeit habe ich selber Nachhilfe bekommen, und zwar in Mathe. Ich kann also nur zu gut nachvollziehen, wie es ist, in einem Fach mehr Unterstützung zu benötigen. My name is Charlie and i would love to help you feel more confident in your efforts to learn english to a higher level. I will tell you a brief story of why i am an english teacher. I am originally from England. I have lived in England all my life and was born there , i have also studied in 4 different schools and one college also. I have also been working secularly since i was 17 in a joiners shop making furniture. Since covid began and my boss retired i started working as a handyman and being my own boss. Then I met a girl from Spain called Sora, we began talking everyday. Now we are married and living in Tarragona in Spain. Here in Spain i have been teaching English conversation. Helping my students by giving them practice in speaking lessons and culture lessons too. I enjoy teaching and have been doing so on donation basis in order to help my students. These lessons that i have been conducting have sharpened my teaching methods. I look forward to helping all those who wish to practice and improve their English vocabulary, fluency and grammar with whatever else i can do to make those who wish to learn English feel more comfortable and confident. Last year I completed the International Baccalaureate, and have also taken GCSEs and IGCSEs. I studied all three of my subjects at IB level as well as at GCSE/IGCSE. I have also had tutoring experience from primary-GCSE level, with a preference for GCSE tutoring. I have also done courses on Autism, ADHD, and mental health and have taught people with SEND. I am also indifferent to the age of my students but would prefer to teach at GCSE level. Personally, I would describe myself as open-minded, kind, and caring and would also say that I am a nerd! I adore all things Star Wars, Harry Potter, and also love animals. I've had experience tutoring students at GCSE level for a variety of different subjects.
