New tutor

Here’s a warm, natural **~250-word “about me”** that feels personal but still professional and tutor-appropriate: --- Hi, I’m Rebecca! I’m a Sociology tutor with a strong passion for humanities subjects, particularly sociology, English, and academic writing. I’m currently studying Politics and International Relations at university, which has strengthened my understanding of social theory, critical thinking, and structured essay writing. My academic background allows me to support students not only with content knowledge but also with developing strong analytical and evaluation skills. My interest in sociology comes from wanting to understand how society works and why social issues affect different groups in different ways. I enjoy helping students make connections between theory and real-world examples, as this often makes the subject more engaging and easier to understand. My tutoring experience includes supporting my younger sister and my neighbours’ children with primary school work, 11+ preparation, and GCSE subjects. Through this, I’ve developed a patient, calm, and encouraging teaching style. I understand that many students struggle with confidence, particularly in essay-based subjects, so I focus on breaking topics down into manageable steps and creating a supportive learning environment. In my lessons, I use clear explanations, discussion, exam-style questions, and structured writing practice to help students build both understanding and exam technique. My aim is to help students feel more confident, capable, and motivated while making steady academic progress. New tutor

Hi, I’m Archie Hall, an energetic and passionate English and Science teacher. I enjoy helping students learn in ways that are simple, clear, and fun. I believe that learning should not feel boring or stressful. Instead, it should be exciting and meaningful. My goal is to help students build confidence while they improve their skills in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the world around them. In my English classes, I help students explore literature, grammar, and language through creative activities. I use group discussions, role-playing, storytelling, and multimedia projects to make lessons more interesting. I encourage students to share their ideas and opinions, because I believe every student has something valuable to say. I guide them step by step so they can improve their communication skills and enjoy learning at the same time. I also teach Science. In my Science classes, I explain lessons in a simple and easy-to-understand way. I use real-life examples and hands-on activities to help students understand different concepts. I want my students to be curious, ask questions, and discover answers on their own. I believe that Science helps students think clearly and solve problems, which are important skills for their future. I work hard to create a positive and supportive classroom environment. I make sure every student feels respected, encouraged, and motivated to do their best. In my free time, I enjoy watching anime, which inspires my creativity and imagination. I also sing a song every morning to start my day with positive energy. This daily habit helps me stay motivated and ready to give my best to my students. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Finance. My studies helped me develop strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills. I also gained knowledge in communication and management, which are very helpful in teaching. I have been teaching for one and a half years now, handling both English and Science subjects. During this time, I have learned how to plan effective lessons, manage a classroom confidently, and adjust my teaching style to meet different learning needs. My education and teaching experience have prepared me to guide, support, and inspire my students every day.

I have also had tutoring experience from primary-GCSE level, with a preference for GCSE tutoring. I have also done courses on Autism, ADHD, and mental health and have taught people with SEND. I am also indifferent to the age of my students but would prefer to teach at GCSE level. Personally, I would describe myself as open-minded, kind, and caring and would also say that I am a nerd! I adore all things Star Wars, Harry Potter, and also love animals. I've had experience tutoring students at GCSE level for a variety of different subjects. I would describe my teaching style as engaging and adaptable I maintain an open stance towards feedback and novel ideas. I encourage my students to think beyond conventional boundaries, nurturing their unique style and thought paradigm. I strive to push them to present convincing and innovative points. However, I make lessons very practical; there is a science behind English and I can teach anybody how to improve because I know that. I am passionate about English because I believe it is an evergreen discipline. I love the theories and conversations that English illuminates and evokes in all its forms. Studying English language and literature was truly inspiring for me. My A level studies encompassed a multi-modal exploration, including speeches, plays, books, diaries, interviews, poems, comics, and blogs. This comprehensive exploration challenged me to grasp the nuanced aspects of communication, persuasion and emotion. Moreover, it granted me the opportunity to glean insights from numerous authors representing diverse cultural and historical backgrounds. Hence, I am a better communicator and empathetic person which shines through my teaching. Subjects Taught: English language and literature A level English language/literature Gcse Other comments: I love business and sports! I pursued my undergraduate studies at the University of Nottingham from September 2020 to July 2023, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Economics with International Economics. Prior to that, I completed my A-Levels at King Edward VI Five Ways School in Birmingham from August 2018 to July 2020, achieving outstanding grades of A*A*A in Mathematics, English Language and Literature and Economics respectively. My academic journey began at King Edward VI Aston Birmingham, where I completed my GCSEs from September 2016 to July 2018, earning notable results including 4 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s, and 2 grade 7s, with grade 9 distinctions in English Language
