Hello! :) My name is Cécile and I am twenty-five years of age. In 2021, I graduated from De Montfort University, Leicester with a Bachelors Degree in Drama. I am currently working full-time as an Insurance Consultant whilst also supporting students on their academic journeys (big highlight of the week)! :) I started tutoring during my A-Levels (from 2016 to 2018) and it was here where I started helping year seven or eights (who were struggling with their English homework), during my free periods. The tutoring then progressed to University. I also did teaching modules within my degree (to which, I received a First) and started teaching English and French to private students, throughout the nearby Leicester area. I have been established on the GoStudent platform as a freelance tutor since the January of 2022 and on the 4th of January 2024, I received my 500th lesson certificate. To summarise, I have delivered over 860 lessons on this platform alone, to date. Collectively, I have over eight years worth of tutoring experience but on a continuous basis, I will be hitting my four years anniversary in January 2026. I teach the following subjects: Drama, English, History and French. Drama and English are both taught from, Primary through to Degree level. History is taught from GCSE through to A-Level. French is taught from Primary through to GCSE or I also teach French to individuals who are looking to learn the language, from scratch - I possess dual nationality (as you can probably tell by my name) :) I also conduct lessons providing coursework and exam help. I love keeping active, listening to music/podcasts, playing with my cats and helping others succeed, is the icing on top of the cake! If I can help someone achieve their goals, then that is a day well spent :) I possess over eight years worth of tutoring experience and that includes both, face to face as well as online. In 2016, I passed and achieved thirteen GCSE's, nine of which vary from B - A* grades. - Bishop Walsh Catholic School, Birmingham. In 2018, I passed and achieved three A-Levels in Drama, History and Biology. - Bishop Walsh Catholic School, Birmingham. In 2021, I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Drama including a First Class for my Dissertation. - De Montfort University, Leicester. In 2024, I started my Cert CII and I am aiming to have my full Chartership in Insurance, by March 2026. Throughout my degree: I received a First Class Honors for my 'Education and the Performing Arts' module which has proven fruitful with tutoring. This consolidated my understanding of the performing arts education policy, pedagogy, curriculum design, and assessment in a time of educational, economic, technological and social change. It also allowed me to construct innovative ways towards lesson exploration including within the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) sector. I can confidently say that I have explored the place of the performing arts in the evolving English education system and in the early years, informal, community and therapy settings. My degree allowed me to submerse myself into various fields of education and resultantly, have the right exposure towards assisting students within the following categories: - EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage/s). - SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). - Primary Education. - Secondary Education. - Mature learning.

Hello there! Hope you are well. My name is Joshua Hailey and my pronouns are he/him. I have been an online tutor for around three years, and I hope this 'About Me' section gives you an insight into who I am and my teaching style. Before I go into more detail about who I am, I would urge you to read the testimonials, (at the bottom of this section), from some of my current parents whose children I am teaching! These statements can help you make an informed decision and, (hopefully), choose me as your child's next tutor. I am an English Literature BA (Hons) graduate who studied at the University of Portsmouth. In September 2024 I am undertaking a Masters in Modern and Contemporary Literature from the University of Leicester. With over two years tutoring experience, a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills, I have challenged and supported students across all educational stages, including primary school pupils right up to A Level students! I want your child to succeed and I truly believe they can do this! My lessons are varied, fun, but get the work done! Education is not 'one size fits all', and online tutoring is the perfect example of this. My sessions will see your child grow from strength to strength, as they learn new concepts and methods of success in their respective subject. You will not find me simply reading off a screen for the entire lesson, but you can expect interactivity to drive every single lesson that I will (hopefully) have with your child! In addition to English tuition, I also offer Primary Maths, 11+ and History. I have experience supporting students in all these subjects, and have completed them to a GCSE/A Level standard (for more information on this, please see my 'Academic Background' section). In summary, I promise to adopt a customised learning plan and positive ethos for your child across all sessions. As the parent, you deserve to feel included in your child's progress. I will endeavour to regularly update you through messages, comprehensive written reports and periodic phone calls should you want them! Here is a full list of the subjects I offer depending on the age of your child: Reception-Year 9: Maths (Primary age only), English Language, English Literature, SPaG, Reading, Comprehension, Literacy, History, 11+ (For 11+ I can only offer English and Verbal Reasoning so please keep this in mind.) GCSE: History, (Edexcel and AQA), English Language (including the Speaking and Listening component), English Literature (AQA, OCR or Edexcel), SPaG, Reading skills Exam Board Experience: AQA, Edexcel and OCR. Languages I speak: English SND Experience: Little to no real-life experience, but I have had mentoring from an SND tutor As mentioned at the start of this, here are some written testimonials from some parents of the students I teach. I hope this enables you to see how beneficial I can be for your child's education! Jaydon's, (a year 3 English student), parent says: 'Joshua is a wonderful tutor and has the ability to engage with children in a warm and nurturing way. He is excellent at engaging my somewhat headstrong son and has not only picked up on his strengths, but is encouraging him to build on them which is increasing his confidence. Joshua’s subject knowledge is second to none, but what makes him wonderful tutor has been his ability to get to know my son, understand his way of thinking and adapt a teaching style that brings out his best work. Homework, the reinforcement of topics learnt in session and the positive feedback has really helped to my son progress well in English. My son looks forward to his sessions with Joshua every week.' Archie's, (a recent GCSE student), parent says: 'We couldn’t have asked for a better tutor than Josh. My son was struggling with his GCSE English Literature and after just one session with Josh, he felt so much more confident with the subject. There was a lot to cover but Josh set out carefully planned revision sessions leading up to and during the exams that covered all the topics. So by the time the exams came my son felt able to tackle anything that came up. Josh is incredibly amiable and knowledgeable and put my son at ease straight away. I would definitely recommend Josh to anyone who is looking for an excellent English tutor.' Kimiya's, (an 11+ Verbal Reasoning student), parent says: 'Kimiya has been having lessons with Josh for almost a year. She has improved significantly and is getting better day by day. Kimiya really enjoys the lessons with Josh and is always looking forward to their next lesson. Josh makes the lessons fun and makes sure that Kimiya has understood the subject before ending the lessons. We are very happy and lucky to have him tutoring Kimiya.' So... what are you waiting for! Are you ready to see your child thrive? Let's do this! I am an English Literature BA (Hons) graduate who studied at the University of Portsmouth. I am currently completing a Masters degree in Modern and Contemporary Literature from the University of Leicester. Below are my other qualifications and their examination boards. If you decide to choose me as the tutor for your child I am more than happy to go into detail about my qualifications at your first session! Please note the examination board of each qualification is in brackets. This does not mean I am not able to teach an alternative exam board for your child. Feel free to address any concerns around this at our first session. GCSEs: Biology (AQA) - 5 Chemistry (AQA) - 4 Drama (AQA) - 6 English Language (AQA) - 6 English Language (Speaking and Listening) (AQA) - Distinction English Literature (AQA) - 6 French (AQA) - 5 History (Edexcel) - 7 Mathematics (AQA) - 5 Physics (AQA) - 5 A Levels: Drama (AQA) - A English Literature (OCR) - B Psychology (AQA) - B Extended Project Qualification (Level 3, AQA) - A*[star] (Focus was on the poetry of Elizabeth Barrett Browning and the presentation of female stereotypes within literature and history throughout the Victorian era) Degree (English Literature BA (Hons) from the University of Portsmouth): First Class

Tutoring Preference: - Primary English and Maths - SATs Preparation - NO SEN EXPERIENCE I pride myself on my friendly and approachable demeanour, coupled with a naturally bubbly personality. This enables me to effortlessly connect with students, fostering an environment where they feel comfortable and motivated to learn. Building strong relationships with my students is at the heart of my teaching philosophy. How my Sessions Go: I meticulously plan each tutoring session to ensure an enriching and productive learning experience for my students. Every session kicks off with an engaging starter activity covering a diverse range of topics. This initial assessment allows me to pinpoint each student's strengths and areas for improvement effectively. I believe in the power of visual aids to enhance understanding. That's why I always come prepared with informative presentations tailored to the topic at hand. These presentations serve as valuable learning tools, providing clarity and depth to the subject matter. Throughout the session, I incorporate a mix of interactive activities. Some tasks involve direct engagement with me, facilitating personalised guidance and feedback. Meanwhile, I also provide independent activities that challenge students to apply their knowledge autonomously. These activities are thoughtfully designed to be both stimulating and educational. As a firm believer in the importance of motivation and engagement, I love to conclude sessions with a fun, educational game. These games not only serve as a rewarding break but also help maintain focus and enthusiasm. By integrating elements of play into learning, I ensure that students remain actively engaged and invested in their progress. Through this structured approach, I aim to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore, learn, and excel. I tailor personalised study plans to address your child's individual needs, ensuring they receive the support where they need it most. By creating mini assessments on topics covered, I closely monitor your child's progress and provide detailed reports on their development. Following each session, I promptly send a comprehensive feedback report and supplementary homework within 24 hours. This approach not only reinforces the concepts we've covered but also boosts your child's confidence and knowledge. I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to my role as a tutor, with a strong foundation in both academic and industry qualifications: - Level 2 Apprenticeship in Children and Young People's Workforce: Completed following my GCSEs, this apprenticeship provided me with invaluable insights into child development and effective teaching strategies. - Primary Teaching Assistant Experience: Over the past four years, I've honed my skills as a Primary Teaching Assistant, gaining extensive knowledge of the English and Maths curriculum. This hands-on experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of students' learning needs and effective classroom management techniques. - Degree in Digital Marketing: Alongside my work as a Primary Teaching Assistant, I pursued a degree in Digital Marketing, further enhancing my communication and organizational skills. - Tutoring Experience with GoStudent: In April 2022, I joined GoStudent, a leading global ed-tech company, where I've been tutoring Key Stage 2 students in English and Maths. This experience has allowed me to refine my teaching methods and adapt to the unique needs of each student. Additionally, I have converted 100 trials since I have been with the platform. - Specialisation in 11+ Exam Preparation: In the past year, I've had the privilege of supporting students in preparation for their 11+ exams, witnessing their growth and success first-hand. I'm adept at teaching Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, particularly for exams such as the GL Assessments.

Helping others has always been something Ive tried to do wherever possible and is one of the main reasons why Ive tutored in the past and also why I want to become a Doctor. I am a determined and goal orientated individual who enjoys achieving fulfilment through completing tasks and activities. I can be quite competitive but never to mine or my teams detriment as the greater goal always outweighs personal gain. Football, swimming, cricket and basketball are some of my favourite sports and I like to believe that my love of sports and playing them has increased my communication, cooperation and leadership skills. I think a lot of the attributes I have developed through roles and experiences I have had in life can help me achieve success both as a tutor and hopefully as a future Doctor. I am currently studying medicine at university and wish to become a paediatric surgeon in the future. I obtained my GCSEs at Lister Community School achieving 9 A*-A and 2 B's. I attended Brampton Manor Academy for my A levels where I did Biology, Chemistry, Physics and AS level Mathematics. I am also familiar with the grammar school entry exams (11+) as I sat them myself as a child and have tutored kids for them in the past
