Primary level maths KS3 Geography GCSE Geography Exam Board Experience: Edexcel and AQA I can speak English fluently Preferred student age group: 8-16 Hi! I have experience tutoring primary level math students and therefore have knowledge of the understanding students should have, as well as how to help them get to that level. I thoroughly enjoyed studying geography at GCSE and AS level as it is an extensive subject. This is evidenced as Geography covers a range of topics, including inequality in human geography to tectonic and coastal matters in physical geography. At GCSE, I specifically enjoyed studying the cases in response to the growing population issue in Kerala and China, and how these different places used different approaches to respond to this. Furthermore, the essay structure of writing longs mark questions at GCSE and AS Level can be daunting. However, upon understanding the case studies and how they would apply to the question, imbedding the facts to the question can be accomplished and I would love to help students out in tackling this. I found Edexcel as a specification really helpful, as the topics were interesting but also on the website, the learning outcomes needed to be known for the final exam were clear. I have studied geography for one year at university but for other reasons had to change this. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the modules I learned, which included looking into the wider carbon cycle and environmental issues facing our planet. I look forward to helping KS3 and GCSE students looking for support in the subject by using my previous experience in tutoring to give tailored and student-specific assistance. I enjoy listening to music; I will happily bop along to pretty much anything in the indie rock genre. I also love singing, mainly classical and opera repertoire and learning new arias is something I do in my spare time. I am currently a law student however have a passion for geography and find it a fascinating subject. The skills one can pick up from the subject is so cast it can apply to different subjects as well. I was a course rep during my year studying geography, where I was a voice for my cohort on any concerns about the course. Evidence of such a role having a positive impact was seen in one of the modules, the topic was so broad it felt intangible to get to grips with. I discussed and made an action plan with the faculty on how this could be addressed. The end result was a more cohesive manageable lecture content, which is a similar approach I hope to bring to students when I am tutoring. I enjoyed helping out on open days during my time at AS level and GCSE as I felt confident to speak to potential students about the topics in the course as well as convey this in an exciting way to spark the students interests or in some cases, reinforce an existing interest. I have received a ARSM Diploma in Singing and enjoy singing in the choir at university. I am also in a band, and we performed at a Varsity event (unfortunately we lost). However, it was a new experience for me which I really enjoyed. I like learning about new cultures and travelling when I can. I have been to India and Canada, which I enjoyed, and I cannot wait to see more of the world.

Hi, I’m Naomi, a passionate and supportive tutor currently studying Economics and Geography at the University of St Andrews. I achieved all 9s at GCSE, including Maths and Further Maths, and all A*s in A-level Economics, Maths, Geography, and EPQ. I’ve been tutoring since I was 14 and have over five years of experience working with students aged 4 to 17. I specialise in Maths, Economics, and Geography, offering support from early learning and 11+ preparation through to GCSE and A-level exam success. My lessons are interactive, structured, and tailored to each student’s needs. I place a strong focus on exam technique, revision strategies, and building confidence. Having experienced challenges myself as a student — from not understanding certain topics to learning how to revise effectively — I use that insight to make lessons empathetic, engaging, and effective. I’ve also worked with students with ADHD and dyslexia, adapting my approach to suit different learning styles. Above all, I aim to make learning enjoyable and rewarding, helping every student realise their full potential. I studied at Alleyn’s School in London, where I achieved A*s in A-level Economics, Maths, Geography, and EPQ, as well as grade 9s across all my GCSEs, including Maths and Further Maths. During my time there, I was awarded the Upper School Academic Excellence Prize for outstanding academic achievement. I’m now studying Economics and Geography at the University of St Andrews, with a particular interest in development and environmental economics. My studies have strengthened my skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Having experienced times when I found certain concepts challenging or struggled with how to revise effectively, I’ve developed strategies that I now use to help my students overcome similar obstacles and reach their full potential.

Hi, I’m Kayode Ewumi, an English tutor with a passion for helping students of all ages find joy in literature and language. From Year 6 to Year 13, I work with students to develop their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, aiming to make English not just something they have to learn, but something they can truly enjoy and excel in. For me, teaching English is about more than just understanding grammar or memorizing quotes; it’s about helping students connect with the texts they read and empowering them to express their ideas clearly and confidently. Whether it’s analyzing a classic novel or improving essay-writing skills, I take pride in breaking down complex ideas into bite-sized, understandable pieces that students can relate to. I particularly enjoy working with new students because each one brings a fresh perspective and new challenge. I love discovering their strengths and helping them tackle areas that need improvement, especially when it comes to building confidence in their writing and comprehension. I believe every student has the ability to improve and succeed with the right guidance and support. It’s incredibly rewarding to see students grow and take ownership of their learning. I’m excited to help each of my students find their voice in English, and I look forward to seeing them not only succeed in their exams but also develop a lifelong love for reading and writing. I began my academic journey at St. Thomas the Apostle School, where I built a solid foundation across a range of subjects, particularly in the humanities. It was here that my interest in English and the arts first sparked. After completing my secondary education, I attended City and Islington College for my A-Levels, where I focused on subjects like English Literature and Language. The college environment provided a more focused, mature setting for my studies, and I was challenged to delve deeper into texts and engage in more analytical discussions. This experience solidified my commitment to pursuing a career that combined both my love for English and the performing arts. I then went on to study Theatre and English at Coventry University, a decision that allowed me to merge my two main academic interests. The university environment was intellectually stimulating, and I had the opportunity to explore both the literary world of English and the expressive, creative world of theatre. Throughout my degree, I honed my writing, critical analysis, and performance skills, which culminated in me graduating with First-Class Honours.
