History Tutors Online: Ace Your Exams with Expert History Lessons

Hi there! My name is Omasiri, and I am a second-year LLB Law student at the University of Brighton. I teach GCSE History and Sociology, and I teach English from KS2 to GCSE. For GCSE exam boards, I am strictly AQA only. I believe that teaching should be fun and personalised so that everyone has their best chance at succeeding, as every person experiences and processes things differently. I studied 7 GCSEs and 1 BTEC at The Aylesbury Vale Academy. My subjects and grades were the following: Mathematics (6), Double Science (6,6), English Literature (7), English Language (7), History (7), Music (7), Spanish (7), and a Level 1 & 2 TEC Award in Performing Arts (Distinction* = 9). For A-levels, I studied at a grammar school called Aylesbury High School. These are the subjects I took and the grades I got: English Literature (B), History (B), Psychology (C), and an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) on The Necessity of the Right to Silence and Diplomatic Immunity to the Criminal Justice System (C). Now I am a law student who finished their first year with a 2:1, striving to graduate with a 1st and go into being a solicitor or work within the legal sector of large business firms.

Medicine reject at A-level who decided to pursue biomedical sciences instead to explore several career routes in science. Upon further exploration through experiences in healthcare, decided to give medicine one more chance as a postgraduate degree and recieved an offer from Oxford for medicine. Interests include music, gaming and travelling. Tutoring GCSE and A-level Maths and Sciences for over 4 years helping over 40 students achieve their dream grades with a mean result improvement of 2 grades. I also assist in UK medical school admissions tests, personal statement writing and interviews (Oxbridge included). My teaching style heavily revolves around putting methods to practise by attempting several exam questions during lesson time. The goal is to familiarise yourself with exam techniques to the point where exam questions do not startle you. After moving to the UK in 2015, I pursued my GCSEs which I completed in 2019, achieving five 9s, four 8s and two 7s with 9s in Maths and Sciences. I realised my passion for science and decided to pursue Biology, Chemistry and Maths for A-levels where I achieved 3A*s. After being rejected from medicine, I decided to complete a BSc in Biomedical Sciences at UCL, achieving a 1st Class Honours. During my degree I realised my passion lies in medicine and decided to try one more time by changing key parts of my application. Luckily, I received offers from Oxford and Warwick for Graduate-Entry Medicine.

In university I studied a wide range of subjects including Philosophy, History, English and Arth History before I chose the areas I would focus on for my degree. Eventually I decided on Ancient Greek and Roman Civilization alongside Politics and I was awarded a degree with honours from University College Dublin. After graduation I was invited to participate in their Masters programme but I declined their kind invitation as I wanted a break from the academic life. While in university I participated in a tutoring programme where we went to a number of schools and helped students to prepare for their examinations. I tutored groups of students in a range of subjects but mainly concentrated on English Literature and History. These years tutoring were very rewarding as the students were from under-privileged schools and were quite appreciative of all the help we gave them. Cycling is a passion of mine and as my skill in riding bicycles developed I was given opportunities to work with a few different bicycle companies. I was given bicycles and components in order to test their design and durability. I was also asked to preform in a number of marketing campaigns and advertisements for these bicycle companies. The learning processes in the physical arena and the academic arena are quite similar, they involve focus, critical thinking, repetition and study. These processes can be sped up to a certain extent if you have someone to guide you through them. I was also given the opportunity to teach bicycle skills to various groups of people and I really enjoyed this experience. I enjoy travelling and have lived for periods of time in Sweden and Spain. I have always loved learning and I continue to read about a wide range of subjects including Philosophy, Linguistics, Psychology and works in the areas I studied during my degree. So with this background I believe I can help tutor students in English as a Second Language, English Literature, History and Classics.
