Hi, I'm Amelia! I am a third-year university student at the University of Leeds studying English and History. I start my teacher training in September; however, I have been tutoring for almost 5 years now. I pride myself on being approachable and friendly towards my students. Tutoring can be intimidating, so building a happy and comfortable learning environment is my priority. I am studying Biotechnology at the University of Nottingham and have been tutoring students from KS2 to A-Level for two years. I am passionate about making learning more fun for my pupils because that way they'll learn better. I am very good at explaining difficult concepts in different ways so that all students understand. I did A Levels in Biology (AQA), Chemistry (AQA), Economics (Edexcel). I am in my third year of Biotechnology BSc (Hons) and have studied a variety of modules during my studies that equiped me with relevant knowledge that will allow me to stretch my students who want to know more about science. Exams are stressful and unnatural enviroments, but by practicing all types of questions together, my students have gone on to achieve grades that they would not have thought possible.

Hello, my name is Kirstie and I have been teaching for 21 years. I have spent time both in British secondary schools and in schools in Vietnam and Singapore. My main subject and passion is the study of History and I can teach this from Key Stage 3 all the way up to A-Level. My favourite period is the Tudors and I particularly enjoy the stories of the women of this time. I also tutor KS3 English and GCSE English Language and English Literature and am very familiar with AQA, Eduqas and Edexcel exam boards. I also have experience teaching Geography up to GCSE and find the two subjects actually quite complement each other with many of the themes over-lapping. I discovered a love for geography from my love of the great outdoors – I would often find myself on the top of a mountain admiring glacial landscapes and wondering how all the features were formed. This in turn links to my philosophy for education: I believe education should be a journey of discovery that allows the learner to move forwards with their knowledge and understanding of the world around them without putting them under so much pressure that they don’t enjoy it. I believe that effort is necessary in order to be successful, but that learning should not be a struggle or something that is dreaded. I am here to help students achieve their goals and become successful members of their community. In my spare time I enjoy running and drinking coffee with friends. I have 2 cats and have been married for almost 7 years. I am currently learning French in order to pursue my dream of moving to France to start a new life on the continent. I spent a month in Prague getting my TESOL and then taught ESL in Vietnam for 2 years. I just graduated from a degree in English Literature, French and Dutch at the University of Sheffield with First Class Honours, and am currently training to be a speech and language therapist. I can't wait to share my passion for books, languages and everything in between! I have been tutoring for 4 years and am offering tutoring in English, French and History to A level. I finished my A Levels in summer 2021 so I completely understand not only the current exam system and latest revision techniques, but also how stressful school life can be, both inside and out of the classroom. I aim to base my teaching around individual student I hold a BSc degree in Chemistry from the University of Leicester, where I built a strong foundation in scientific principles, analytical skills, and practical laboratory techniques. Hello! I have been a tutor for 8 years with ages 4-17 in a variety of subjects including English, History and Philosophy. I am happy to teach 11+ and English for primary school students, English, RS and History to GCSE level and I am also able to teach A- level History, Ethics and Philosophy. I have worked with children through Debate Mate teaching politics; my students competed at a national level and were extremely successful. I am very calm and patient and I can make lessons engaging for all ages. In my spare time, I meet up with my friends and my boyfriend- I love being in nature! I also spend a lot of time travelling particularly to German-speaking countries to better my language. If I’m doing none of these things then I will be at home cuddling with my kittens. I have graduated from the University of Manchester with a 2:1 BA(Hons) in Politics and German. I acquired 3 A-levels in History, Philosophy and Ethics and German with AAC as the final results. As mentioned previously, I have tutored for many years and I am well equipped to work with children who are anxious or may need that extra bit of support to build their confidence.
