About Me: Hi, I'm Evie, I have worked as an assistant and supply teacher for children of all ages, though I prefer to teach primary and secondary aged children. I'm a very relaxed person and am happy to adjust my teaching to the way each student works best. In my spare time I enjoy physical hands on hobbies, like baking, playing the keyboard, cross-stitch and dance. I am on the younger side, so I'm very familiar with the current expectations on students taking GCSE's and A levels, as well as the resources they have available. Something I think is essential to being able to connect with and teach the current curriculum to students.

As a current English and Film student at the University of Exeter, I have a strong passion for humanitarian subjects, in particular English and History, and would love to help other students as much as possible in recognising their own potential and discovering the beauty of learning. My main priorities when it comes to tutoring are adapting to each and every student's unique and individual learning style, as well as creating an environment that the student feels fully supported in. I am currently an undergraduate student entering my final year of English and Film at the University of Exeter. Moreover, in regards to my previous educational experience, I achieved in A* in English Literature, an A* in History and an A in Politics during my A levels at the University of Exeter. Before that, I attended a secondary school in Dubai where I achieved 11 GCSEs ranging from Grades 7-9. I am hoping to go on to achieve a Masters degree after my time as an undergraduate.

As a student at the University of Oxford, I am passionate about learning and education, with the focus being on ensuring every tutee I have is able to realise and hence optimise their skills and talents. It is this passion for education that leads to individual success.

Over 90% of my GCSE and A-Level students have achieved 9-4 and A*C Secondly, I have a secure knowledge of historical subject concepts. I have a passion for continuing to learn history through broad networks of subject specialists within my school, The Royal Historical Society and other professional bodies. I use cutting edge historical scholarship to promote learning and a lifelong love for reading. This has enabled my students to improve their grades in history, and also their confidence as readers and as speakers. I embrace technology to demonstrate subject and disciplinary knowledge. I have a substantive background in history education. Studying history for 6 years at University, followed by my Post-graduate certificate in education. I am a fully qualified teacher with experience in secondary schools, teaching KS3-KS5 students.

I specialise in medieval/early modern literature and history. Have written a novel on Mary Tudor, Queen of France. Grade 6 piano player. Interested in editing - incl. SPaG, issues of clarity, and developmental. Pre-publication book reviewer. Love travelling to new places. Year 2 English/History student at the University of York. Achieved A*A*AA in A-Level English Literature, History, Religious Studies, and EPQ. Won the Mary Stuart Award for English Literature, the Historical Association’s Historical Fiction Writing Competion, and highly commended in the NCH History Essay Competition 2021.
