I'm Joe a, final year politics student at the Univeristy of Liverpool. During my time at university and before I've enjoyed tutoring originally only in person but for the last three years with GoStudent, aside from this, I'm currently involved with multiple societies such as the Ski, Badminton and Pool societies. Moreover, my interest in politics and social sciences is not confined to my degree, I enjoy reading on these topics outside of the University reading list, particularly history. Through this variety of interests, tutoring is something which simultaneously benefits from them and aids them by expanding my own understanding of these topics. Therefore tutoring is more akin to a hobby than a job for me due to my enjoyment of it. Throughout, my academic career I have enjoyed a wide range of subjects. originally my interests were only in history, and although this is still a favourite, my areas of knowledge have grown more varied. For instance, I'm now studying politics at university, which has been a great eye-opener. Furthermore studying politics has brought me into contact with more areas of study such as economics, media, business and geography. However, I have studied all of these to varying levels before university. My interest has led to me attaining a 2:1 grade each year of study. I am studying Biotechnology at the University of Nottingham and have been tutoring students from KS2 to A-Level for two years. I am passionate about making learning more fun for my pupils because that way they'll learn better. I am very good at explaining difficult concepts in different ways so that all students understand. Hi, I’m Harrison; I look forward to working with you! I hold a first class degree in English Literature, going on to study for an MA in public policy at the university of York. I achieved top marks at gcse (A*) and achieved a B in English literature and History at A-Level. That’s the academics out of the way, in terms of experience, I have tutored since 2020. I was volunteering with an educational charity called action tutoring, providing English and History tuition to groups of 1-3. These were children mainly on the borderline of a pass, looking to achieve passing and even top grades (including 8/9s)I have a good track record of tangible outcomes and was responsible for their progress throughout, keeping records of tests, progression and revision structure.. Some of these students also had significant challenges at home and at school, and so I developed a strong sense of resilience and motivation for education. A few students were also neurodivergent, and so I gained a appreciation and understanding of neurodivergence in education. Since then, I have kept tutoring throughout my university education and hope to do it as I study for my masters degree. All in all that's about 4 years experience!
