Hello. I'm Debs, nice to meet you. I tutor a range of subjects, all based on experience of teaching within school, college and less tradiitional settings. I love tutoring one to one as that is the best way to give the student exactly what they need. I teach Sociology, Business and English at GCSE and A level and I have experience of AQA and Edexcel exam boards. I have also taught Btec Business level 1-3 In 2023 I completed a Master's degree in Philosophy as I love learning new things just as much as I love to teach. I make learning fun wherever possible and tailor every lesson to the student's needs. I am able to give students tasks that get them thinking and responding as if there were in class or an exam without getting them to realise that they are doing this. I am someone who loves to learn new things, especially when it comes to cultures and languages, so much so that during lockdown I taught myself Turkish. I can speak 3 languages fluently, (English, Farsi and Turkish) and am currently studying two languages at degree level (Spanish and French) and have completed my year abroad.

Hi, I’m Harrison; I look forward to working with you! I hold a first class degree in English Literature, going on to study for an MA in public policy at the university of York. I achieved top marks at gcse (A*) and achieved a B in English literature and History at A-Level. That’s the academics out of the way, in terms of experience, I have tutored since 2020. I was volunteering with an educational charity called action tutoring, providing English and History tuition to groups of 1-3. These were children mainly on the borderline of a pass, looking to achieve passing and even top grades (including 8/9s)I have a good track record of tangible outcomes and was responsible for their progress throughout, keeping records of tests, progression and revision structure.. Some of these students also had significant challenges at home and at school, and so I developed a strong sense of resilience and motivation for education. A few students were also neurodivergent, and so I gained a appreciation and understanding of neurodivergence in education. Since then, I have kept tutoring throughout my university education and hope to do it as I study for my masters degree. All in all that's about 4 years experience! I pride myself on keeping my lessons personal and supportive, and will always ask for suggestions to improve and include the student in the direction of study.
